Good Morning. It's beautiful here in Chicagoland today. We rode about 200 miles yesterday out to Starved Rock State Park in Utica, Il and The Middle East Conflict Memorial in Marsailles, Il. Great ride.

What are the 3 audio plugs called on the Spyder (dashboard--by right armrest by passenger and in the trunk) called. I want to use them but I don't know what they are called. I want to adapt them to usb and/or micro plug. I also wanted to know if anyone might know how to plug a strong am/fm tuner into these plugs to pickup weak stations.

Thanks, Mike

Hope everyone is riding:):):):)

Page 39 in your owners manual explains the rear trunk plug. You should have 2 cables that connect to the trunk plug. One is for using a MP3 playing device and the other is connecting up a Apple device (IPOD). The ones by the right passenger my be the extra connections found in the GPS harness. Can you post a picture?

the one in the trunk you can setup for XM radio or MP3 player and you can hear thru your stereo. I now use my MP3 player thru the trunk.

I don't have plugs on my dash or the passenger arm that I can recall.

Or are you referring to the GPS mount by the dash?

So the one in the rear trunk is to connect an mp3/ipod. I'm attatching 2 pics. One is the jack on the handlebars and one is by the left pass grab rail. I'm thinking the one by the handlebars is for the cb and the one by the pass grab rail is to plug in a headset for the passenger. Thanks, Mike

Those plugs look like for heated gear

Did you buy your bike used?

The one in the trunk is for MP3/Sat Radio/Ipod should be right side of the trunk

Send a pic of the one in the trunk since the pics you posted were not factory installed.

Plugs -- Entertainment Harness

Those are the plugs for the entertainment harness that the CB uses to interface through the radio. They are a 7-pin round plug that BRP and others, like J&M use for their headsets. Your bike may, or may not, have a CB ... but it sure looks like it does have at least the intercom so driver and passenger can communicate. There is a Push to Tall (PTT) button on the back of the left driver control, what shows up on your console when you press that? Also, when you scroll through the settings with MODE, do you see settings for the CB?

All the best .... Ann

The bike does have a cb and cb antenna and when I scroll I see the cb settings. When I press the ppt button it says transmitting.

I bought the bike used last year. I'm guessing that I need to plug in a headset to hear/use the cb. Does this cable allow me to connect a mp3 player thru the trunk and plug a headset in to use the cb using the other 2 plugs? http://www.hotspyderaccessories.com/can-am-spyder-auxiliary-cable-kit/. or http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-CAN-AM-...IO-PLAYER-INPUT-CABLE-710001406-/262906272523
When I get her out of the garage I will take a pic of the plug in the rear trunk. I m may be blind but I don't see much in the manual about the cb and the 3 plugs except that the one in the trunk is tocoonect a mp3 player. Thanks again, Mike

Mike ... that is what the entertainment harness does; it ties all the plugs together and provides the headset plugs so that you can hear the radio, CB, and GPS through the headset speakers. The plug in the rear already goes through the radio, so anything you plug in there can be heard through the speakers when the headsets are not plugged in. So, once you plug the headsets in, you will hear it all in the helmet as the driver. I believe the passenger can hear the radio and can communicate through the intercom but cannot hear the CB.

There is nothing in the owners manual on the CB -- I have the paperwork, but last time I tried scanning it and uploading here, it was too big. Send me a PM with your e-mail and I will send you the information for the CB -- does a decent job of describing the controls and how to use them.

All the best ... Ann

Hi Anne/Mike
I don't think you're wholly correct, the passenger can hear the CB. In fact, there is an adapter cord available that provides a PTT button for the passenger so that they can initiate conversations over the CB.

So, the plug in the rear of the bike is an input for an audio device. Either of two cables is available, one fits an older style iPod and provides control of the iPod through the buttons on the left handlebar console. The other is a simple 3.5 mm stereo jack which reads the audio output, but doesn't provide any control.

The other two plugs, one in the center of the handlebars, and the other by the passenger handle provide the ability to jack into the system with a wired headset so the driver and passenger can listen to tunes, listen to each other, or talk on the CB.

You can turn the external speakers off from the audio options page on the LCD screen.

I've had both the wired headsets and the wireless Bluetooth set up. I prefer the wireless Bluetooth. You lose the CB, but these days, CB has limited functionality. It's easy to run your cell phone into the Bluetooth setup.

ThreeWheels .... yes, of course you are correct about the passenger capabilities. I never carry a passenger, so have little knowledge of the controls available in that seat.

Which cable does what? I was also looking at the Sena SM10. Thanks, Mike

The BRP head sets come with the helmet speakers and cables and also two other short cables. One is a simple jumper for the front connector and the other is for the passenger and it does have a PTT built into the cable. Again, I've never carried a passenger, so never had a need to try out these controls.

I am not sure if any of the other headset manufacturers (like J&M) have "lower cords" with the PTT button .... it would be worth a look, though.

All the best .... Ann
