• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

bd473bed.jpgI was kinda reluctant to post this because I don't want to Be responsible for anybody's spyder but mine but...
Please read and possibly use the gadget at your discretion.

I decided to post because paying $169 for this would be way worse than $10 spring for frunk.
I had no problem tapping into ambient temperature, I mean it's just tricking spyder to think its colder than it really is but others may not feel that way.

Does it work? Very very well. I had power commander and this little thing before and I prefer this but wasn't going to pay $169...

Do I burn more fuel? YES but mostly because it's more fun to twist the throttle with it.

I can always turn it down on the fly, like when I am cruising on freeway.

I did buy one of these when it was 69 bucks (still way too much for couple of resistors and a attenuator) and it worked well except that attenuator was so small that I had to stop to adjust. It was given away when I thought spyder was no more, now they want $169 for it!!!

I looked for way to make this but I don't Know much about electronic components.
With help from pep boys mechanic, local electronic shop and a retired electronic engineer referred by the shop, it turns out all I needed was $3 adjustable resistor...

I tried 1000 ohm first but that wasn't enough but 5000 ohm did the trick.
Oh, I splurged and got a small enclosure for it too for $2.50. :)

I do need a new muffler thou...
While "testing" muffler began to make funny noise. I looked down and rivets were popping out and whole cylinder was loose. This two bros single does have 20000 miles so time to open my wallet for Yoshimura, I guess
