• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Applying brake makes radio go static...

Im new here but thus far loving my 2013 RT-S. Have put 873 miles on it in 8 days. I noticed that when i apply the brake it makes the radio go static. When playing Ipod no issue, only with radio stations. Didn't see any wires dangling etc. So has anyone else had this issue as well as a solution? Thank you in advance.

Fm radio Sir. And there is a bright brake ring if you will around the BRP on the trunk. It was on there when i bought it.

It might be a grounding issue with that extra brake light. Take a look at the grounding on it and see if you can improve on it. Also, a ground strap added to the radio case (found on top of the right saddlebag - under the right passenger grab handle) might help.

Sorry that I had to ask that... :opps:
My AM radio makes sounds like a tray full of fine China; getting pitched down the cellar stairs, when I stomp the pedal! :D

AM? I have never used that portion of my radio since day one. All we get here are talk shows--and not very good ones at that.

Back to the thread:

Sounds like ground issues to me also.

I did see a grounding strap when i removed the rear cover yesterday. But I didn't see what it was attached, When i get back home from work I will explore and see if it is hooked up to the radio.

So if it is the added brake ring...any suggestions or should the extra grounding strap take care of it?

Disconnected the brake light ring. Pressed the brake and you guessed it no static! So will relocate the wiring to the left hand side and see if that may help. Thank you again very much for all of the help thus far!
