Apple IOS 5.0 lost iPod artwork

Upgraded my iPhone 4 to the new IOS and now have no album artwork on my tunes. Trivial maybe to some, but i am an iPhone addict, and my phone is used for calls, work email, calendar, GPS, and tunes when I am on my RT. I only have about 1800 songs to reload. No big deal,,,,,, yeah right.

Anyone else have this issue? I googled and it appears that a delete and resync is the answer. Aaargh!!

I just upgraded from the iPhone 3G to the 4S and although I don't use my iPhone for recorded tunes I found the resync to go a lot faster than before so maybe it won't be as bad as you're envisioning. I have 2 iPod classics and all my recorded music is on those. I rip everything in Apple lossless so I would fill up an iPhone pretty quickly. For the price difference between the base phone and 64G model I could almost buy another pod with way more storage space.

:dontknow: I found some google results that said several resyncs might solve the issue. So after trying and re-trying, it finally did sync fully.:clap:

Don't know what the issue or gremlin was, but I am happy that I didn't have to re-do the whole thing. It took about three hours to update to the new IOS and I didn't want to sit through that again!nojoke

Yep. It did take several attempts tho. I finally saw a message "syncing art work" or something to that effect. It seemed to keep stalling out and had to restart the program disconnect and reconnect the phone. But it finally did work!

Can't help it Jim. I like my tunes!! I have a pretty broad sampling too. I range from Enya/Moya Brennan to Hank Jr / Johnny Cash all the way through the classic rock groups like Kansas and Boston. Finally arriving at groups like Seether, Disturbed and Slipknot. Something for every mood. Yes I know. I am weird!!

My iPad (finally) synced, but overnight it went into "recover" mode (1600), and would not turn on, sync, or anything else - Apple told me there was a hardware problem, and the IPad wasn't repairable - even though it was fine before the upgrade.

I found that placing the iPad in DPS mode, the re-syncing fixes the issue. Now it's upgraded, and working as it should......

While I love iOS 5 - there are some synching problems with iTunes 10.5 running under windows. Hopefully they'll get a fix out soon. Until then I can't properly sync iPhone and iPad.

Just got an ipad2 and really love this thing!

My iPad has replaced my iPhone, Kindle, and laptop - yes, I had to add the iWork suite, & the adaptor to drive my PowerPoint projector, but life is much lighter now, with one device..... BTW, I don't have to pull the iPad out for airport security......
