• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone Using "Hotwired" brand Gloves?

Bought a set, the type with a button on top that can be set on low, med, and high. Assumed they would work connected to my Gerbing jacket wires, powered via the Gerbing controller. Found out today that they do not....or at least I couldn't make them work. They would flash, on high, with the controller turned way up, but then seemed to shut down. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe they simply won't work with the Gerbing system because the controller cycles on/off .

Any thoughts?

FWIW, I have an older pair of Gerbing's but they only heat on the top side. Newer ones heat top and bottom but I have been unable to find anything local to try on, other than the Hotwired brand.

does the voltage match ???? ..... Mike

Both 12V. I'm thinking because the Hotwired gloves a made with built in low/med/high switch on each glove, made to be wired directly to a battery, that the Gerbing controller cycling on/off disrupts the current flow to the switch, turning it off....or somesuch.
Donno.......

i have the exact gloves. just bought another pair, as 1 started flashing on/off, wouldn't stay on. probably had them 5 yrs, and i put alot of winter miles on them.
the problem is the gerbing controller. if you tried on high, then they flash, need a direct wire. i have only had them direct wire with cables that came with gloves

Much appreciate the feedback. They are very nice gloves and I'm disappointed that I can't use them with my Gerbing jacket. Not wishing to have more wires, in addition to my present controller on the handlebars, I'll return the gloves or sell them on line.

Look on the Warming store website.

Also, What is your jacket wattage?

Deanna, thanks for Web site....they stock Gerbing which are made to work with my jacket and seem to have all sizes. Have bookmarked the site and may order a pair. Sorry, no idea of Jacket wattage but have used it for years with Controller hooked directly to the battery, then a wire from Controller to jacket with gloves hooked to jacket arm wires. Been riding a fair amount with controller running on high with no issues with battery.

HI ulflyer, You are Welcome! ( I am a snowmoblier, I use Warm and Safe Heated Gear,LLC( which is designed and Manufactured by Warm and Safe Heated Gear,LLC,) they also are 1st gear which is premium riding gear equipment. I wear a 90 watt heated jacket, that has a wire( hanging out of my pocket with a red end plug) that can be connected to my sled/or spyder when I need it. I also use the First Gear Heat-troller that I use for the sled/and spyder, which has a red/and yellow knobs for the jacket and the heated pants( which is controlled by the yellow knob). As of know, I don't use heated glove liners.

Also keep in mind the jacket wattage when ordering the heated gloves.

Good luck!

And Warm and Safe gives you a 20% discount with your AMA membership. Also BajaRon sells FirstGear at a good discount and I believe motorcycledave may also.

My old Gerbings are almost two decades old, still going, and heat top and bottom. With the Spyder's heated seat and grips, I barely power the Thinsulate lined gloves and jacket liner, but they are nice to balance things out.

I have had my First Gear Heated Troller since 2014( the same year I bought my 2014 Spyder RTS-SE6).It works great. I use it for the spyder and the sled.
