There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone purchased riding accessories at one of the IMS shows?

I've never been to a motorcycle show and saw that the IMS show is coming here to Dallas in January. I've held off purchasing some riding accessories I've been eyeing because I'm thinking that the retail and manufacturing vendors may offer better discounts at the show. I'm thinking an extra helmet and whatever else catches my eye.

Has anyone been to one of the IMS shows and can you expect a better deal than online or through a retailer like Revzilla?

I bought a helmet at the Long Beach, CA show, it worked out to be just about the same price as Revzilla but the difference was I got to try it on first. Also, I got to try on every helmet from every manufacturer before I decided on one. They had to order mine but they shipped it to my house at no extra charge. I wouldn't have had room to bring it home with me so that worked in my favor.

Definitely; go to the show, and prepare to be amazed!! nojoke
Being able to try on the riding gear is a definite plus!

:agree: & some vendors will have some deals just for that show:lecturef_smilie: You may get lucky, but dont expect more than that. Enjoy the show for a show not a sale. :2thumbs:

I've purchased lots of gear and accessories over the years at motorcycle shows, including IMS. It's nice to touch and feel and try on the goods when you purchase them. I even had pipes installed on one of my bikes at Arizona Bike Fest a few years ago.

IMS will be in Phoenix in February, and then comes Phoenix Bike Week is in March. Can't wait!

Yes

I bought my wife a shoei GT air at the DC show last January for our aniversery. It was priced the same as Revzilla but because it was an open box, got for a few dollors less. She was able to Try on and take with her.

Purchase At IMS Shows

We purchased our Shoei helmets at the Dallas IMS show in November 2010. One of Shoei's Regional VPs fitted the helmets for us. Got good information from him about helmets. At this same show talked with the people from Moto Liberty in Dallas about riding gear and they gave us a coupon to use at their big sale that occurred the following weekend. We bought jackets, pants, and gloves and saved some serious dollars. Also, at the IMS show I tried on some boots, but could not find any that I liked or fit well. Bought Bates tactical boots from an Army/Navy store.

It is worth your time and money to go to the IMS show to look for gear.

This year at the Long Beach (CA) IMS there was a very limited number of large retailers.
There was however more smaller vendors than in past years.....

If you use the discount code SRA16 when you buy your single day show ticket you can save a few dollars on it. (in most cases $3)

IMS purchase

I bought Tour Master riding boots a couple years ago at the Phoenix show and got a 20% discount. I got to try on different sizes to find the correct fit. Which made it better than ordering online.

I bought my helmet there a year ago, and saved money. They also gave me different cheek padding without the additional cost. I'll get my next one at the show as well. Mine was a Shoei.

I also found a guy who quoted me insurance that saved me the cost of my helmet just for that year.
