• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My spyder is going into limp mode this week at random, I think one of my relays is going out, was seeing if anyone had any extras I can have them send me for trade of something else or I can buy them off ya.

its not like before when i was bouncing around hard, its back and forth to work and its NOT seth riding.

VSS fault, flashing engine limp mode, DPS fault. messages

it happens in the 3 mile ride home.

Seth, will you try something before you start changing relays.

This might sound stupid but just wipe off your rear wheel sensors and make sure they are clean. I have had this issue and both times that it happened my rear wheel sensors were dirty. After my sensors wear cleaned, the issue went away.

It costs nothing to try it, so please report back if it worked or not.

thanks for the heads up I was spinning for the last mile in the storm of the century up here that was really just a snow storm. I will try to clean them off and see what happens.

Thanks again and I do clean my spyder... when it gets to the point where it doesn't work any more.

I did clean them and there was metal shavings from my garage on them and they were rusty from the salt flats. Me and a friend cleaned them up and ran it with the rear tire up to see if it would fault out and it did not ( my "friend" was on the throttle side so we hit 87 mph in the garage) but eventually about 2 minutes in ABS fault came on. I shut the spyder down and could NOT get the abs to reset, tried the 3 times shut on and off. So after some very angry words I drove it work, after a half mile the abs vss fault went away and I shut the spyder down and let it shut off on the way to work in the snow (very few were crazy enough to be out) got it reset and going again. I was going about 7mph in the 6 inch random snow and had to finally put the sand bags on the back of the spyder.

I am now sick as hell and can't wait to ride back and sleep. Spyderlovers comes thru again. I only had one trip to test it to see if that the main issue was the sensors.

But just to be aware if you run yours too long with just the rear tire moving you will get a abs vss fault that will not clear unless you drive it about a 1/4 mile, then you have to shut the bike down to clear the limp mode.

Any metal debrid can clog the back wheel VSS sensor (2 prior RS 2010 models, 1 thereafter); learn that myself with a loose small magnet from the McCruise cruise control. nojoke

You will probably have to ride a little to get the ABS fault to reset. The Spyder compares the front and rear wheel speeds, and can throw a fault if you run just the rear in the garage (or on a dyno) if the rear sensor(s) is not taken off and let hang free. If you did remove the sensors (leave them plugged in), you may have gotten debris in there or messed up the gap when they were reinstalled.

Dave click on your photo and you will see those teeth that are on your rotor. Follow them underneath the swingarm and you will see two little rods (at least on mine) that line up with those teeth with wire coming out of them. I'm not sure if the RT is different from the RS or not. :dontknow:

Those are the sensors. You might have to wait until your back gets better to lay on the ground and are able to see them.
