• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I purchased a CompCooler Motorcycle Rider Solo Cooling System. It is seemingly the best system, though certainly arguable. Are there any others who use the system? I had another similar system, but they went out of business and the vest tubes calcified, no water would pass through. I have one problem and that is long term usage, i.e. when I take a ride that is longer than the ice in the solid ice container. What does one do on the return trip; on another day's ride; or when the original ice melts? I want to use distilled water around the ice block (it is frozen solid inside a plastic container) to prevent the tubes from calcifying. I've got it mostly figured out, but I'm curious to know if any others have used the system, and how you solved the problems of multi-day trips away from home.

Is container large enough to hold reusable ice blocks or small frozen water bottles? Every corner store that sells Fountain drinks has Ice dispensers; most sell just cups of ice under $0.50 - (most) truck stops do too.

I have the CompCooler system and have used it for the past 3-4 years.
On trips I usually just buy a small bag of ice; break it up on a clean place; dump out the amount that won't fit in the cooler and put bag and ice in the cooler. Not a perfect plan, but it will do on a trip (placing enough ice to fill the plastic bin with a lid on it is a waste of time in my opinion). A frozen chunk in the container is great when it can be done.
I usually dial in an on/off setting that suits the day/temperature, holding off from "on" times as long as I can. When the pump kicks in it makes me shiver (in a good way)!!
My rheostat for the pump is located under the handlebars, near the ignition. And I wired in a pigtail from The Warming Store . One end is wired into the cooler pump and the other end runs under the rear seat and lies beside the left-hand passenger grab rail... easy to plug into when ready to ride.

My primary advice is this:

Buy 2 each of the plastic quick-connectors (male/female) and keep them on the Spyder, along with small zip ties. I've had them split along their length and it only becomes apparent when I hooked up to use it (testing prior to leaving home is now my procedure).
