• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Simply curious, in our house we have been detecting as a second hobby for over a decade.

Living near Atlantic Ocean South Florida beaches, those are not far for us to get to. Even the 1715 ships / beaches are not that far.

Curious if anyone else is doing this, where you go and what equipment do you have.

In our house, currently, a Garrett ACE 250, two Tesoro gen 1 Sand Sharks, a Tesoro Tejon, and recently purchased a Garrett AT Max and a Garrett Sea Hunter MKII.
Probably will downsize a bit and go all Garrett though.

Have not often done it, but cool to load the CanAm RT622 trailer with detector gear and take the Spyder.

I got the gold bug a few years back:2excited: and started with a Minelab Xterra 705 then a Gold Monster 1000. Waved the dam things over every nook and cranny I could find :rolleyes:for zero results. Found some dust panning:ohyea: and nearly crippled myself kneeling down all day:banghead: Nowadays use the detectors when we go surf fishing to fill in the time between bites. Best find there has been $2 coins , fifty million beer cans , thirty eight thousand fish hooks and one point five trillion lead weights. Still waiting for that rare Rolex to beep and transport me to a world of grape peelers and fan wavers! Probably need to stray onto the beaches that the beautiful people frequent to hit that milestone though.Trouble is they whine so much when you inadvertantly hook them in the ass:shemademe_smilie:

I have been detecting since 1988. I now own 5 Fisher detectors-CZ 3D, 2 CZ 6's,CZ 7 and a CZ 20.(Yea, Kinda hooked on Fishers. However, I think Fisher is about to exit the hobby market) I hunt old school yards, Parks and old houses when I get permission. Try to make it to the beach with the CZ 20 at least once a year. I retired 2 years ago and thought I would get out more, But the old body thinks otherwise. Nothing like seeing an old silver coin in the bottom of your hole.
