• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone else going to miss Famous Dave's in Scarborough (Maine) ?

Been to a Famous Daves when I lived in WI twenty years ago. It was a good experience. They served the "big" meals on a garbage can lid.

Right off main drag (US 1), lists as Cabela Blvd. Cabelas is right next door. Been there about 9 years or so.

Cabelas is up off the Payne Rd before the Mall heading to S. Portland. As many times as I have been there Cabelas I just never gone there (Daves). I do now remember seeing it there. I guess I missed something Good. I will have to look for one in my travels and try one.

Just closed, really no notice. we enjoyed the restaurant.
It's already gone from the location list at the home website. The restaurant business is pretty risky so the loss of any particular restaurant shouldn't be surprising, especially if it's a locally owned franchisee.

For what rumors are worth, hearing it was more of a real estate decision than the restaurant not doing well.

Could well be the case. If a business doesn't return to the owner the actual rent cost, or the equivalent current rent value if he owns it, then it's time to get out. Both numbers will go up as the real estate value increases. Could have been lease renegotiation time. More than one restaurant has closed when the current business volume, while currently profitable, won't support a lease increase.
