• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Took my 2011 RT in for 600 mile service. Rode in with no problems. Went to pick it up and the bike had a bad vibration in it at idle. Shop manager said it would be alright when it warmed up. I told him it never did it before and to check it out and I would see him Tuesday. Any ideas on what it could be?

Sounds like they wounded or disconnected a plug wire or vacuum hose while servicing it. The warm-up comment is BS. These engines do not idle roughly when cold...like most fuel injected engines.

Have to agree..!!

Must be a reason for the change. As stated above they should check plug wires and vacuum hoses. Hope it was a good tech that knows spyders. Many apply motorcycle procedures on spyders resulting is syrange side effects...hope they get it right before you pick it up....:gaah:

Yep, they goofed on something. Isn't a "spark plug check" part of the 600 mile service? Thought I remember reading that and my dealer saying they dont bother with it. If so they may have fubared the wires.

Can Am should really offer an option to the Spyder called a Polygraph. Commonly known as a lie detector machine, this device could be mounted somewhere under the tupperware with leads that could be accessed from the frunk. When a salesperson, tech or service manager tells you something about your Spyder that doesn't ring true, you would just hook the leads to some sensitive part of his/her body and ask them to repeat the comment.

The dash would have a dial with a gauge that would read True, Partly True or Pants on Fire. If it shows Pants on Fire, a nice little fifteen amp jolt would run through the leads.

Thanks!

We will see what they say Tuesday. I will ask about plugs and hoses then. Thanks for the info. New to the Spyder world!

14K or 2 years. Whether they followed the two year plug check(replace if needed) guideline is anybodys guess. That said, at minimum when he asked about the rough idle they could have taken a minute hooked it up to buds and isolated each cylinder to check its firing condition.

All is well now

Changed the oil again and it had some trash in it. Must have been a block in the line somewhere. She runs good as new now!
Thanks for all the help!

Some dealers don't like to do plug checks because at least one plug is a PIA to get to. It does sound like something got messed up in the servicing though. :yikes:
