• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any other bald riders? Know of any caps with minimal or 'soft' seams that won't leave obvious impressions on my head?

I'm folicly challenged and embrace it by shaving my head. I wear a wicking skull cap, which helps with sliding my helmet on and holding my glasses in place under the helmet. The only real downside is that the stitching seams of the caps imprint onto my big bald head, and they last for quite a while. It's not uncommon to get odd looks from folks, often a puzzled expression. I get it, I mean sometimes they look like surgery scars.
Do any of my fellow shiny domed riders know of a cap that has minimal or "soft" seams that leave a less obvious impression?

excellent product, reasonably priced. crappy website

Look up "welder caps". They are made to wear under a welding hood that attaches to a hard hat. Amazon got plenty of them.
I'm not bald, but I wear the welder caps under helmets. They are made to wear backward. The bill is to keep hot sparks from going down your collar and setting your shirt on fire. Many different styles and thickness of them.

Amazon.com has about 6 or 7 whole pages of them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have a few of those but the seams have the same effects that I mentioned.

If there are any seams at all, you might try wearing it inside out.

Thank you, I do this often and it's somewhat effective to reduce the effect.

Might be worth a call to the Schampa folks. Good luck Poppie65, hope you find something super comfortable.

If you wear something between your head and the helmet, you might need to go up one size on the next helmet so it doesn't put so much pressure on your head.

Like I said, I don't wear the welder hats under the helmets because I am bald. The main reason I wear them is to avoid sweating on the welding helmet harness and the liner of motorcycle helmets also. I have several and when they get sweaty and dirty, I just throw them in the washing machine, and get out a clean one. It keeps all that stuff off the liner of the motorcycle helmets as well as off of the leather harness inside a lot of welding helmets, grinding shields and cutting shields.

There are several different types of them. The only ones that don't have any apparent seams are the beanie style knit caps. I have a few of those to wear under a helmet in really cold weather.

I wore these at work when I was a younger man and had hair. Ha! They're very effective for the hot work you described.

I'm not bald but I use the Axial Base Liner from Cycle Gear. They have both summer and winter versions. Very comfortable and no marks on forehead.
