There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Any opinions/advice about this Used 2016 Spyder RTS?

I was looking at a 2016 Spyder RTS with 6,000 miles. It looks perfect from the outside, but it was purchased from the auction so I have no idea of service data.
It is being sold by a non Canam dealer so all they can do is check it for safety. They are asking around $20,000 give or take a couple of thousand. Any opinions about what you would do since there are no service records. I heard that the Canam dealers can look them up by the vin number if it had service.

thanks for all your help

When I bought my 15 RTL new in October of 15, I paid 21k for it. Sold it 2 years later with tons of farkles for 17k. I wouldn't pay more than 10-12 for that one and only after I got to check it myself.

How did you come up with the 10-12k price. I looked online and saw most of them in the 18-22k price.
All the prices of used Canam Spyders are all up quite a bit. They are selling for the price of what they were new 5 years ago. All this is due to the shortage of new bikes and so the used ones keep increasing. Cost of supply and demand. Only in America. LOL

Seems used prices have gone up vs new. I purchased my 17 RTL in spring of 18 with extras and taxes total for 21400 out the door. My dad just bought a 2021 for just a bit more and that comes with 4 year warranty for a new machine vs 5 year old machine. Nothing wrong with the 16 just a bit to high in my opinion too. I’d say 15-17000 tops out the door. For 2500 more you can get a new machine and warranty.

b Waaaaaaaaaay over-priced .... plus if there are any issues they can't fix them ..... good luck, but look elsewhere .... Mike

I just looked at the ad on craiglist. Seems like a good price. However, I like to deal locally if possible. Anyway, thank you for the response. I agree with what you said. Fortunately I still have my 2021 F3L .

I'm a bit confused when taken in context of your other post about your F3. Are you setting up to hedge a bet on the F3? See my comment about a backrest. I personally would not consider an auction vehicle.

It's funny how you mentioned about not buying an auction vehicle. All the cycles I have traded into my Canam dealer went to the auction and nothing was wrong with any of them. However, I don't know about the other machines unless one could get all the service information on a used vehicle from the auction. I did hear that the Canam dealers can get that info from the vin number, but we can't. Is that true that we can't ? Just curious.

BRP dealers can get maintenance information if it's done by other dealerships and properly entered in the BRP system. DIY info will not appear in those records.

thank you. That is the problem. The dealer might not want to give you that information since you are not buying the bike from him. However, if you are a good customer, he might reconsider.

If a dealership is interested in having a customer patronize the service department, a profit center in the business, it would seem obvious it would provide maintenance information. Perhaps it's not so obvious to a drone in the service department and has to be explained in words of two syllables or fewer.

And DIY information will not appear anywhere else either. IOW unless you can talk to the PO you won't likely find that information. When I sell my Spyder it will come with my log books/ Will they stay with the Spyder.......:dontknow: Auction vehicles don't bother me, I have bought several on purpose and not been stung (yet :roflblack:)
