• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any ideas how to secure a Nolan n-43 helmet to the Spyder?

I have the helmet below and looking for suggestions on how to secure it to the bike instead of always having to put it in the trunk. It doesnt have the loop on the chin strap and the chin guard is easily removed.

People rarely mess with helmets just sitting on a bike---I've leave mine on the bike all the time and have never had a problem............

You could also get a sportrack and topcase which is handy for many things including helmet storage.

:agree: I often just leave mine on the bike along with my jacket unless the wind is really blowing hard. Never had them bothered at all. Stopping to eat or a break for something to drink, I usually take my helmet and jacket into the cafe where they will stay much cooler (or warmer).

Think it depends where your at. Some places, its ok to leave your helmet and leathers on the Spyder. Other places, the minute you leave, things start getting "adopted."

:) You must live near Houston! There are some places I'll leave my helmet and jacket on the bike, but only if I can see them. Otherwise, that's why I have all the trunk space... jacket, pants and helmet.

:agree: I would cable lock it around the chin anyway because most bikers do not touch and most do not know how to remove the chin part anyway.

Has anybody tried the bracketry that allows you to hook a helmet to your bar ends? Otherwise I'm kind of looking for a an extension to run through the D-rings on the helmet and loop over those hooks under the seat. The trick is that I'd rather have it be on some sort of cable (Maybe 4" long...), rather than a chunk of steel to scratch stuff up with...

Easy to extend the straps with a cable. A short piece of aircraft cable from the hardware, and a couple of cable fittings, will make an extension cable with a loop at each end. Slip through the D-ring and hook it under the seat. A retractable cable lock, such as the one by Pacsafe, will do the job, too, and has other uses. Similar locks are available from other motorcycle suppliers, and even at some big box stores and home improvement centers.

You might want to look at Kuryakyn's License plate helmet lock.
I bought one from Dennis Kirk many years ago. It was called Helmet Guardian back then, The only difference is The Guardian has two locks, Kuryakyn seems to have one lock. Maybe The helmet Guardian is still in business??
