I cannot find the answer to my question, when downshift on your SE6 do you 1) keep giving gas to the throttle and release the gas slowly until complete doenshift or 2) you let the throttle off when downshifting or 3) it does not matter use the brakes, downshift and throttle off. Thank you.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You don't have to release the throttle; the computer takes care of it for you. :thumbup:

If I'm slowing down I release the throttle, if I am accelerating to pass or going up a hill I keep the throttle on.

Holding the throttle in place and punching upshift is what most are talking about here.
The SE6 downshifts on its own quite well. Just apply brake (like on your car) and it will downshift at the proper place and time. I let it do its thing about 98% of the time. If I need to power down to the next gear for some extra power to pass, then I will manually make the downshift.

When I'm slowing down & need to do it quickly, down shifting with no throttle helps slow the spyder faster.
If I don't have to slow down quickly then I just back off the throttle & use the brake. The computer takes care of the shifting great.
It's just a matter of what you are comfortable with. There is no right or wrong way when slowing down & down shifting. JMHO

When was the last time that ANY of you were slowing down, and still were feeding the bike any throttle? :dontknow:
If you're coming up against a hill that requires a lower gear, or a cage in front of you that needs passing: just click back on the paddle , and the computer will do the rest! :thumbup:
(You can never blip the throttle as precisely as the computer... :bowdown
