• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've been lurking in the background a couple of months now. Purchased a new 08 last month and been riding as much as possible, for this time of year. I have a couple of questions I would like to ask that I havn't found answers to in any of the threads. What are the holes in each side of the dash beside the instrument cluster and could these be blocked by speakers. The other question is I want a larger windshield since one of the reasons I bought the spyder was for days in the winters there might be ice spots on the road preventing two wheel riding. I can't seem to find anywhere there is a collection of spyder pictures that identify which windsheid is which for comparision

Welcome to SpyderLovers Mo Lee. Thanks for "un-lurking". :joke: :joke:

Someone has put speakers in the area that you are talking about in the dash. Look at these links...

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4597 Specifically the last picture in post 11.

I think they upgraded to this speaker / mount, but still in the same area.

There is a current thread about windshields along with many good and bad opinions about various windshields and their effectiveness.
Trying looking at various threads in the "Mods" section to see various pictures of a number of aftermarket windshields.

Also, using the search function, the word "Windshield" yielded over 450 threads and searching for "Windshield picture" whittled the number down to 44 threads. Its not perfect but I'm sure that at least some of those threads will have pictures of the various windshields.

Keep in mind that the windshield threads will probably not get to the answer "you" need. You will find love it, hate it comments about every shield out there because we all have different heights, helmets, riding styles and expectations. It is great information, but many of the owners on this site are on their second or third shield looking for one that is just right. Good luck as the search for the best windshield is a journey many of us are still on. Sliders seem to offer the best opportunity to adjust to riding conditions, but some don't like the looks. Others have two they switch between based on conditions. Some stay with stock and are just fine.

WELCOME

HI Mo, I glad your on a :spyder:now, I live in Omaha Ne, and I hope to take mine to the TABLEROCK area, have you been thinking about STURGIS this year, RIDE ON:spyder2:

Thanks for all the response. Found the pictures to be very helpful I'm just wanting a simple windshield to cut some of the wind off my face and chest. As for speakers my concern was blocking the vent hole in the dash panel in case there was a purpose for them. Again thanks for all the welcome aboard posts seems to be a friendly bunch.
