• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another MPG Thread

OMG

But it's not in HIS backyard... He was asking about his situation...
Now; if you want to know about yours... :D

in case you missed this part "JUST AS A REFERENCE "bob I suppose you just said it because you haven't got your 100 " ice cream " posts in today, yet :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.......................mike

Please be nice.

The intent of the thread was to have a little more fun with our famous "mileage thread" subject.

I appreciate the math insights. This stuff gives most of us a headache--and I am an accountant. :roflblack::roflblack:

Have not yet "double checked" the figures--but they look pretty good. Guess I will hit the "good stuff" again. More miles, and less money in the long run. Whooda thought? :roflblack::roflblack:

Now, the dilemma, should I pay 20 cents a gallon more for premium or go with 40 cents a gallon more with the Shell brand--even though it all comes from the same refinery. :roflblack::roflblack: I do get a 5 cents per gallon preferred customer discount.

With a twenty cent differential; you'd still be saving forty cents per fill-up when stuffing 5 gallons in the tank.

And to calm Mike down...
At a thirty cent differential for five gallons; you're paying a dime extra... for the better performance!
At forty cents: the cost for the higher octane fuel goes to sixty cents...

Just an update on another who cares/ mpg thread.

We went back to premium--here 90 octane. After running the tanks almost dry twice and putting in premium both times...

The mileage we are used to is back.

Got 32 mpg on the 998 and 42 mpg on the 1330. Actually one mpg higher on both than "usual."

My mid-grade test put us down 3 mpg. Performance did not seem any different. Did about 100 miles on the 998 to verify performance also.

Just a FYI.

My bike seems to be stuck in a rut...
The last four tankfuls:
39.7
39.5
39.6
39.6

I just can't get back to 40... :D

Oh! 93 octane.
