• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. An Honor

This is not a political post, just letting you know more about a remarkable man. This past weekend I had the honor of meeting President Carter in Plains, Georgia.

Last September I had arranged for myself and my Rolling Thunder friends to meet President Carter, however due to me having open heart surgery I missed the opportunity. My friends did complete the trip and had a personal visit with him and Rosalynn Carter for a few minutes. You can imagine my disappointment.

Two weeks into my recovery, I received a call from my contact in Plains to come on down when I felt I could. Well my wife and another couple made the trip.

The Carters look very good. Rosalynn is 89 and looks like she is in her 50's. Jimmy (he really doesn't like to be called Mr. President) is 92 with a very sharp mind and a great sense of humor.

Besides being President, Mr. Carter is an Annapolis Graduate and became one of the first engineering officers on a nuclear submarine. We all know of the great humanitarian work he did after his Presidency. He is one smart guy.

Plains Georgia has a population of 700 of the nicest people you will ever meet. I highly recommend that you take a ride to Plains and stay in the Plains Inn. Ask for Jan and tell her Keith sent you.

No kidding, while I was there I picked up a can of Billy Beer!

Is Billy Beer still around? Better yet, is Billy still around?

Oh yea, one more thing. I see you're from SC. I just loved Charleston, SC when I was stationed there from '67'69, in the USN.

They are an amassing first family; one that I don't begrudge the retirement benefits which we pay with our tax dollars.

You look pretty fit and well in that picture also

Billy passed away in 1988 at the age of 51. He was 13 years younger than Jimmy. The only place I know you can get Billy Beer is in Plains.

I would like to meet him and Rosalynn. It would be an honor to meet him.

Jimmy was the least effective POTUS of my lifetime. But, he is an incredibly decent human being.

I think that may gives us hope for our new POTUS and his ability to make things work for the middle class.

Regards,
Joe T.

PS

I just sent you a PM. Way off of this topic.
