• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. American Pickers, Episode 105... Spyder plug!

Watching American Pickers on the History Channel tonight, when Frank found a custom made 3-wheeled Honda that had 2 front tires and 1 rear tire and they went to talking about how it looked like the grandfather of the Can-Am "Spyder"... then they went on to show pics of a Spyder RS describing it as a cross between a motorcycle and a sportscar! Too Kewl!

When and/or where did you see your 1st Spyder? I remember them from the 2008 "G.I. Joe" movie where Sgt. Slaughter (Brenden Frasier) rides up on a Spyder "Phantom" Edition RS. At the time I thought it was just a movie prop created just for that scene. A few years later though there was a news story on ABC about the Spyder's and how everytime gas prices spiked the dealers would sell-out of them and have them backordered because demand would go thru the roof, that's when I realized it wasn't just a movie prop.
I only saw a Spyder in person THIS year. Now I own and ride one too.

First saw the GS in an Internet article on 3-wheeled vehicles. Showed it to my wife and she said she wanted to see one in person..."Now!" Drove across the sate to see one. A week later she had her PE on order. I saw my first RT on a leaked advertisement photo that was posted here momentarily. I ordered a week after the official announcement, but didn't ride one until a couple of months later when the demos landed. My PE arrived in December of 2009.

I saw my first Spyder on a computer monitor. It was right behind Lamont's big index finger with him saying 'I'm getting one of these, you got to get one too'. I never do what Lamont says so he didn't expect me to get one... But I did.

That was sometime in June of 2007.

My First Sighting

I saw my first RS~S 2012 a Fireengine Red in the showroom of a bike dealer in Hong Kong August 2012.

When..!!

somewhere around 2010 on a TV commercial while living in Conn. Sold my wing, trailer and all gear when we moved to San Diego. Wife bought us a 2012 RS sm5 in August 2012. You guessed it, had to buy all new gear...

Look at this one....

I don't know where I first saw a Spyder, but I've been looking at possibly buying one for 2 years...I was looking for a deal....mainly because I thought they were overpriced for what they are. Lol

My first seeing one up close was on April 24 this year at a BRP demo, then by mid August I had one sitting in my driveway...without even having a MC license yet. :roflblack:

A friend and I went to a bike night event several years ago. When we arrived there was a Spyder setting in the parking lot........................I had no idea what it was (I believe my comment was the usual WTBleep is that???), though my buddy did.

In 2008, I saw an ad for the Spyder . . . and fell in love. I showed it to my wife and said I really wanted on . . . then saw the price and backed off. Every time I saw a TV ad, or saw one on the street, though, the Spyder was on my mind for a while . . . but I didn't think I could afford that much for a toy . . . I retired in January of this year, and turned 65 in May . . . my wife mentioned the Spyder to me around my birthday . . . she asked how much they cost. I asked why, and she said she wanted me to get one for my birthday. Since I had access to my 401K money, now that I was retired, one was, suddenly, affordable! We didn't get to the dealership for a couple weeks, but when I got to actually touch one, I was hooked. Rode it home on June 5th. Even with the recall issue, I still love the heck out of it . . . most fun I've had in my 60's!
