• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Almost there! Kansas hasn't been friendly!

Kansas sure hasn't been as nice a ride as in the past! I'm almost at SF! I haven't had near the adventure with weather that Murphybrown had, but I'm glad I'm past what I did come through! 1743 miles so far. First couple of days in Idaho were pretty good while I took my time and made some side trips to take pictures of historical marker signs. Then came the Rockies. I failed in my attempt to outrun crummy weather and went through some light rain, a little bit of downpour, and then dry snow over the Divide. Spent the night in Denver, had breakfast with a grand niece and hubby, and headed toward Kansas.

Then came the wind! Persistent east wind that clobbered my gas mileage.:gaah:On Saturday from Hays to Junction City (Prairiespyder's home) it was cold, overcast, and drizzle for a ways. Note this. In Idaho, Utah, and even over the Rockies in Colorado I was averaging about 24 mpg pulling my "tent on a trailer". In Kansas, I have only averaged about 18 mpg! :banghead: Boy, I sure hope it has been the wind and not something gone haywire with my :spyder:. I stayed here in Pomona State Park last night near Vassar, KS. To add insult to injury there was only a few minutes of warm water in the shower this morning. The lady in the office didn't charge me a $3.25 vehicle fee in compensation so I'm pleased. I should get a good idea about mpg from here to SF. The weather is sunny, warming up, and no wind, yet! So Kansas will give me a very pleasant send off!

See you all in a few hours!

I'm sorry to hear that it hasn't been a comfortable trip...

...But these experiences often give us all the BEST stories to tell!

Hang in there; it HAS to get better! :D

Hang in there..!!

your almost there with tales to tell. Sorry but once your past and survived its a story to share...after all you did save $3.25 on a cold shower..:roflblack::roflblack: no one else there did... be safe and may the rest of your journey be a great one...

Sounds like you had a rough trip ( weather) hang in there, it has been cloudy, rainy here in Vermont also, but the today the weather is going to get better 60's & 70's. Have a safe trip to SF. Deanna

After a while, and a couple sips of blackberry brandy (or similar), those "worst" trips become our "best" campfire stories.

Like the time on the canoe trip, we paddled out of the sheltered bay to cross the lake with a fully loaded canoe, and then the whitecaps and waves ...:roflblack:

On behalf of Kansas, I apologize! But the high winds doesn't mean Kansas isn't "friendly"!

Did you get to do the tourist thing at Fort Riley?

It sounds like you need a shot of that purple stuff we have here for the party tonight at the Best Western.

I hope you make it to SF safe and sound.

So did you make it here?
Yes! But I'm still cold! Haven't been warm since I left Idaho! Yesterday was nice, not cold, but just barely warm! Parts of me were cold this morning in the tent, the showers at the fairground campground were cold, and then I come McD's for breakfast and it's almost cold in here!

But the sun is shining, the sky is clear, and finally I'll be warm! [emoji4] [emoji4]

It's been a great day for spending $$!! Got a new F4 windshield, sheepskin seat cover, Rivco flag holders, and laser alignment. With DPS change last fall the handle bar wasn't square w/ tracking.

Talked to PrairieSpyder.

Sounds like you were following me around. I bought an F4 vented windshield , some flags from Rivco. A red ring LED for the back.
