• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Friday I got all of the recalls, fixes, upgrades, etc., finished. :2thumbs:
Took her out on a 250 mile romp, ran great...almost. The brake noise in stop and go traffic is down right embarrassing. Are there options for brake pads? I had the rear brake done (recall) that was useless. Also, she downshifts to an idle of a low of about 1,200 RPM and as high as 2,000 RPM...talk about stop light creep! Any thoughts :dontknow:

I contacted the EBC supplier this last week, and the EBC pads are not yet available. They said maybe in a few months. That leaves only the BRP pads. The other solution is the one BRP originally authorized, before they decided to change the pads. Remove the pads, clean well with CRC Brakleen, then apply CRC Disk Brake Quiet to the rear of the pads. Let it set up a bit, then reinstall the pads. Not recommended by BRP, but Tatt2r's spring between the pads trick he posted today appears to be a good idea. Just make sure the spring will not bind when the pads are compressed or worn completely, and the spring is not too strong.

As to the wandering idle, I'd love to know the answer. Been fighting it for over a year, and BRP still has no solution. Fortunately we have an SM5, so it is manageable.
