My 2009 RS SE5:f_spider: was purchased last year with the intention of making some lengthy road trips. :2excited:This year I am finally going to start my first road trip. I don't care for the hard bags offered by BRP, Corbin or Divi, plus I don't really have the coins for them.
After a lot of research I decided that maybe the Nelson Rigg CL-850 bags would do the job for me.
I ordered a pair from my local Cycle Gear store, and the bags arrived yesterday, only ordered them last Sunday. less than $130 + tax. Took them home and installed the stiffeners, tight fit, but really gives the bag substance.
Installed the bags as if I was going to use them throw over style to see if they would fit, clear the exhaust pipe and not interfere with the tail lights.

Only problem is I couldn't open the seat to get to the gas filler cap :gaah:.
By installing the straps under the seat, everything works . I got a BRP seat bag as part of my deal when I got :spyder:. Here is a picture of everything cinched up. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=1524&pictureid=16798
Now to gas up, I only have to release the two front straps of the BRP bag.
Didn't even have to adjust seat catch post, just have to press down a little more to make it latch. Don't know if riding with it unlatched would be a good idea.
I am, will be, a happy camper. When I'm not traveling, I have my clean RS to ride.
