• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Again with the soft saddlebags thing

My 2009 RS SE5:f_spider: was purchased last year with the intention of making some lengthy road trips. :2excited:This year I am finally going to start my first road trip. I don't care for the hard bags offered by BRP, Corbin or Divi, plus I don't really have the coins for them.

After a lot of research I decided that maybe the Nelson Rigg CL-850 bags would do the job for me.

I ordered a pair from my local Cycle Gear store, and the bags arrived yesterday, only ordered them last Sunday. less than $130 + tax. Took them home and installed the stiffeners, tight fit, but really gives the bag substance.

Installed the bags as if I was going to use them throw over style to see if they would fit, clear the exhaust pipe and not interfere with the tail lights.

Only problem is I couldn't open the seat to get to the gas filler cap :gaah:.

By installing the straps under the seat, everything works . I got a BRP seat bag as part of my deal when I got :spyder:. Here is a picture of everything cinched up. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/album.php?albumid=1524&pictureid=16798

Now to gas up, I only have to release the two front straps of the BRP bag.

Didn't even have to adjust seat catch post, just have to press down a little more to make it latch. Don't know if riding with it unlatched would be a good idea.

I am, will be, a happy camper. When I'm not traveling, I have my clean RS to ride.

:2thumbs: I mounted my 950 the same way [under the set] last year.
another plus is there more secure that way.

can a passenger still ride comfy with the side bags installed?it looks like it may be cramped quarters.

Saddkebags and passenger

I don't ride 2 up. The wife refuses to get on :spyder2:. I doubt a passenger could ever get comfortable, the bags completely cover the passenger foot pegs.

Roadkill: There is a large neoprene pad under each bag to protect the finish. It can be trimmed. I simply turned it under when I attached the stabilizing strap to the back tie down point on the bag. The strap is attached to the casting at the back of the passenger foot peg.
