There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. After hearing so much hoopla, I finally tried Buc-ee's! Never Again!

After hearing so much hoopla about Buc-ee's, we decided to stop there and fuel up on our way back from New Mexico. Plus, Gas Buddy informed me that they had the least expensive gas in the area, with a 57-gallon tank to fill, every little bit helps.

So, I'm driving our motorhome, with the Spyder in a trailer. I have to hunt for an open fuel island and after circling the pumps twice, I find one. It's a two-pump island and I get the second pump, which means that there's someone in front of me and my trailer is hanging out, in the way of others., I'm a bit concerned but I figure that I'll be in and out quickly. Yeah, right.

I start the fill process and after I get that going, I start to look around me at the other shoppers.

WTF?

Where is everyone? ALL the cars around me are empty, while still parked at a pump!!!! EVERYONE is inside the 7-Eleven on steroids! It's as if these people have never seen a store before and they ALL have to go in and leave their cars at the pump!

That's fine except that I'm ready to leave and the guy in front of me, blocking my way out, is still 'shopping'.

So, I have to wait for this guy? Whatever happened to common curtesy? Get your gas, move the car, do your shopping.

Of course, Buc-ee's is perfectly happy with this behavior, they're making money, what do they care?

First and LAST time we every spend a dime at Buc-ee's! I'd rather pay more at the pump than to have to put up with this crap.

My wife got out and blocked the traffic behind us, moved a couple of barricades, and this allowed me to back the motorhome/trailer up and get the heck out of that madhouse!!!

I've never been to a Buc-ee's, although I had been considering riding my Spyder over to the one that's about 60 miles from where I live.

I may rethink that. :D

I would say it's the way the US is headed problem, not a Bucees problem. On the way to a 2-wheeler rally a month ago, stop at station with 6 pumps. All full, none pumping any fuel, one vehicle left and 3 of us had to utilize that one pump as the vehicles at the other pumps never moved the entire time we filled up 3 bikes. Heck one of them the driver was in the vehicle staring at his phone.

Seems common courtesy is a forgone conclusion anymore.

When I get gas and the pump doesn't print my receipt, I leave my vehicle there and go inside to get it. I also take care of whatever business I need to at the same time. If it does print, I move to a parking space before going inside.

A Buc-ees is supposed to be open soon somewhere in Arkansas. Not me. If I want crowds, I will go somewhere else. The drop your car off at the pump and take your time shopping in the store thing is one of my favorite things to complain about.

I will say no more and you can ponder at will.

You obviously missed the sign at the entrance that says no trucks, trailers, and no motorhomes. Buc-ees is not a truck stop, and they don't want to be. To be frank, if you are towing, they do not want your business.

The pumps are laid out the way they are to be difficult for large vehicles ON PURPOSE.

That's also why the latest ones they have built have over 200 pumps. Got to go in and get some Beaver Nuggets!

Buceez ain't the only place this happens. I have stopped at Loves and racetrack same senerio. Self centered, but from store view point more $$.

:chat:....Well folks, here's the real deal.

If you have tried a new place 'Buc-cee's' or whatever store.
Rest assured that they are in business to make Money.
Sometimes they are a good thing and sometimes they are not.

The wife and I enjoyed our shopping visit with 'Buc-cee's'. YES, it does seem to be different than the 'normal' way.

:shemademe_smilie:.... Slow down and enjoy your day.

Not sure how long they have been in business but they are adding more locations.

I wish 'Buc Cees' the best moving forward.

Nope, I did not miss such a sign because there wasn't one. I looked on the way in and on the way out, nothing of the sort.

Common courtesy and common sense, both have gone the way of the Dodo bird.

We have one 3 miles down the road from the house. We know when to go if we want to stop there. NEVER on Friday afternoons thru all day Sunday! Best time is before 7am, or after dinner. The later the better. Tom :spyder:

To each his own, I suppose. I have been to the Buc-ee's near Atlanta twice. Once when it was pretty much unoccupied (around 2:30am). Once when it was packed (around 3pm on a week day). I enjoyed both times. Crazy! Yes. People leaving their vehicles at the pump while shopping. Yes again. Is that rude and inexcusable? Certainly. But I worked with it and had no issues. Both times pulling a 20' flatbed trailer behind my F250.

Sometimes it's good to remember, 'When in Rome...'.

Now with the largest gas station in the world just down the road from us near Sevierville, Tennessee. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Seems their standard model for a build now is 200 + pumps.

I didn't read the article. They said 120 pumps and that didn't seem like it would qualify as the 'Largest' in the world. So, it may be the complex (Store + Pump Islands) which bring the title. It is big as I've driven by it. Just not into it yet.

Not just the US, LMFD. It happens out here in OZ all the time too. You pull up behind an empty car at the pump because they are obviously inside paying for fuel, but they are in fact shopping. All I want is fuel so I can continue my journey. They are either too self-centred or too lazy to move their vehicle to one of the parking bays to do their general shopping. It’s a worrying trend. :sour:

Didn't want to appear like a pretentious American and assume it happens everywhere. Sorry to hear that it's not limited to happening just here.

Only signs I see discouraging entry is for semi's. I see hot shots, motorhomes, lawn service etc. in there all the time.
