• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After about 62,000 miles on 2 different GS/RS-S, an RT-S is in the future!

Honestly, I didn't think I would ever really be interested in buying an RT. But; when we decided to trade in November, I decided to not only consider the new ST-S; but, glance more closely at an RT model. ;)
My riding impressions are posted in the General Discussion forum here.
I'm impressed! Really, not too much difference in straight line performance! And, the handling difference between my current RS-S, and the RT-S that I test road isn't so much that I couldn't adapt. I've yet to take the wife for a ride on one. But; she's liking the idea of going with an RT, as well. She's always been comfortable on my other Spyders, and we've been on some long trips. The RT would be even better, as all of you know that already own RT's.

The RT that I rode was a 2011 or 2012. They did not have 2013 yet available to test ride.
I have been reading about some possible handling issues with the 2013's. Is this still an issue? Or; has this all been straightened out now? I'm not buying until November. I just want to make sure no issues are on the horizon. That is something I want to bring up with my dealer early on, I think.

Color-wise, I really like the Circuit Yellow that's offered on the RT-S. I know with all the options I'll want, I might better off buying a Limited. I'm just not really into all that chrome. But, I must say the white RT-L does look nice! :)

choices, choices..!!

sounds like you have done your homework and are at that momentous point. All the issues on 2013's have been resolved so you just need to test one to finalize you quest...good luck however it goes and send some pic's...:popcorn:

If you've got a chance; throw your bottom in a 2013's saddle and give the wheels a bit of a spin... :2thumbs:
It's pretty surprising just how different the bikes feel... BoomerKC (Jim) and I swapped rides at SpyderFest, and we both came away impressed at how the other side of the fence can look...

I'm just about at the same point with my first Spyder. Coming from a PY GL1800 trike, I too like a CY RT-S in the SE5 flavor. I've read here that there are a couple of mounting options for a GPS on an RT-S. What is the difference between the LTD GPS and one you mount (on the dash) of an RT-S, as long as it is a Zummo 66 or 665? "The devil is in the details"
Thanks
Mike

After riding a 12'RT that was on sale as a leftover, then riding the 13'

Ltd. we bought, I was happy to pay the extra $ for the 13' . In my opinion, its an excellent value. I am slowly de-chroming as we speak.

De-chroming..... Tell me about this, please. That is why I am leading toward the RT-S in yellow. I prefer the black over the chrome. Not that the chrome isn't sharp! It really is! I'm just more of a black/grey kind of guy.
But; I've actually been thinking about a white RT Limited a little. That way most of the extras I'm going to order for at RT-S will already be installed.
I already have a Garmin Zumo 550. But, I wanted to upgrade to the one offered for the RT's - the 660.
My wife mentioned last night that she still prefers the Circuit Yellow, anyway. But; is leaving the final decision to me. ;)
As the options go; here is a list of things that I will add on an RT-S..

Vented windshield
Garmin Zumo 660 (installed just like the RT Limited)
Rolling front luggage, soft side cases, soft back case w/shelf
2" longer comfort seat (some say it's standard on the Limited - my dealer doesn't think it is)
Akrapovic exhaust (I'm ready to be heard again - I never got around to putting a Hindle or other performance pipe on the RS-S. My GS had a Hindle)

There might be a few other items that I'm not thinking about right now.

"De-Chroming" :yikes:

Mike: it seems to me the Garmin mount for the RT-S would be the exact one that the RT Limited is using. Why not mount it like that? I'm sure that's what I'll have the dealer do providing I go with the RT-S.
