• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello,
I just purchased my yellow spyder yesterday. Should get on June 29th. I cannot wait. I adding the following mods: 4' riser, sport touring windshield, 12 volt power outlet, comfort seat with back rest, HID lights and fog lights. I am hearing different stories that is good to heard and seen. Well I covered the seen part with the bright yellow but was wondering if I should change my exhaust and improve performance and sound. What are the thoughts of others? Also, really would like to add LED lights that change color but my dealer says would be complicated to install, not many Can Am dealers in southern new jersey.

Take a look at the "My Mods" forum. Chances are, whatever you're thinking about has already been done... to one degree or another. My stuff is linked below in the signature.

Congrats!

An aftermarket pipe (I like the Hindle as it is not too loud) is a must have in my opinion. The stock pipe looks terrible, sounds like a lawnmower and makes the Rotax run hotter.

You know you want to change it-----;)

Congrats on your new Spyder. I think the HIDs are a must have for safety. You get seen better and you can see better, a lot better. My opinion on the exhaust ... Its been discussed numerous times on this forum about whether loud pipes can be considered a safety feature and I've sided with those who say its not a reliable safety feature. Change the exhaust because you like the sound or the look better, not because you think someone in a car will hear you and be more aware.

Should have read all of your message, I have a yellow Spyder and I put on a Micron 2.5 pipe, backrest, outlet, HomeRun package from Neon Magic, new F1 windsheild, fog lights, TomTom GPS. Pipe sounds great, lights a must. Just kicking around thoughts on decals or paint job, to many plane yellow in my area, again need to make it my own.

If you're specifically talking safety items - then yes - the HID's (like the NMN kit) are a great thing. Comfort seat, Risers, Forward pegs, etc. can all make your ride more comfortable for the long run.

I've never thought that a louder pipe is any safer - just way COOLER!

What lawnmower does it sound like? I'd like to make a comparison. IMO there's one thing that doesn't cost any money that will improve performance, if performance is measured by 1/4 mile times. Let's forget reaction time for a minute. Scotty you've frequented many 1/4 mile runs; you want to take a guess?

welcome

I agree about the hindle...

As far as lights and other goodies, the NMN LEDs are really a good way to go...some states don't allow pods and whatever all over your bike (like my state)...but, changing your stock lights for really bright LEDs is a good way to go.

I have the millennium yellow spyder too...you chose well, young jedi. Not only does it look the best, but it is by far the fastest...Lamont can attest to this (:D).

With a hindle and some brighter lights...on a yellow bike, you'll be just like me...ut oh, okay, maybe you don't want that...but regardless, you'll be heard and will be seen!
