• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HowTo: Add additional storage using BRP LINQ accessories

I have a trailer and am going to install my hitch soon, but I prefer to ride trailerless when I can and I’m solo. I had been pondering adding a LINQ Base Plate to the trunk of my RT instead of a luggage rack, so I ordered a base plate, LINQ base attachments, and started with the 21L expandable bag. Now that the base is installed any 16” LINQ accessories will attach with the click of a button. I simply located the plate where I wanted it on top of the trunk, drilled 4 mounting holes, used 2-inch anodized black screws with 3/4” spacers to mount it, and 20 minutes later it was done. I realize this may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it will give me the added storage I need for my Myrtle Beach Bike Week trip and Americade. (I’ve been adding extra storage to my Spyders since 2008 and included 2 pics at the end of my 2008 GS top box install right before the first homecoming trip to Valcourt almost 15 years ago.)

Anyways, here is how the RT turned out:

I have the OEM Spyder trunk rack already mounted on my trunk of my 2022 RTL. Can the Linq base plate be modified to allow it to mount onto the trunk rack? I would really like to use the Linq system versus strapping a rack back to the rack.

thanks

Rear rack mod for Linq accessories

I won a BRP Urban backpack last year at the Ryde the Rock event here on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. It is designed with over the shoulder straps or the Linq system. My base model F3 didn't come with a rear rack, so I bought one. My local Can-Am dealer sold me the Linq mounts for $32 Cdn and a local metal shop sold me the steel bar for $20 Cdn.

I went for a 1,000 km ride a few weeks ago with the backpack installed, and it worked well. The backpack has 40 litres of storage. I now have storage on the rear rack, plus my Shad saddlebags. With the Linq system, I can add other accessories.
