• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ABS Fault - New 2010 Spyder

Before I call the dealership, I was hoping someone on this forum could give me some insight.

Yesterday, I took my brand new 2010 Spyder RSS (automatic) for its first ride. I went 40 miles then stopped for two hours and 40 miles back when I got close to home the Spyder stalled at a stoplight and gave me an ABS Fault error. I had to turn off the ignition before it would start back up again. It now only has 93 miles on it. What could be the problem?

Any thoughts?

You need to check brake fluid level, Being a new rider you might have had your foot on brake pedal while you where riding and not even realized it.
Both have been known to cause this fault...

You also need to check your brake lights and make sure they are functioning properly. If not then you may have a blown fuse in the front fuse box. Either that or a blown bulb can cause this issue when you get on the brakes as well.

Let us know what you find the cause to be.

Thanks for your help. I checked the brake fluid and it was good. I'll check the brake lights next to see if that might be the problem. I took it out around town this afternoon and didn't have any trouble (no stalling, no scrolling errors). I'll keep you posted on what I find. The dealership said they could run a diagnostic but said they are back logged for 7-10 days. GEEZ! I'll probably figure it out by then!

Glad to hear it cleared up. Be sure to keep your right foot away from the brake pedal while you are ryding, until you need to use it. This issue has also been caused by people unknowingly ryding with their foot touching the pedal. It doesn't take much force to make the VSS and ABS believe you are in a constant brake mode.
