• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just read this in a FYI type of publication and think it is worthwhile to pass it on. Don't dare to put this in the 4 sale & WTB forum. :yikes: :lecturef_smilie: :sour:

Used motorcycles, boats, and Cars For Less. Skilled con artists list vehicles for sale for jaw dropping discounts to lure unsuspecting buyers who may think they're getting the deal of a lifetime. The con artist attempts to justify the low price with an emotional divorce story, job loss story, or forced to sell due to need to settle an estate and then asks for payment through their own secure channel. Anyone unfortunate enough to fall for it will part with their money and never hear from the seller again.

This MIGHT apply to some very LOW PRICED Spyders listed for sale on this site.

Thanks! We've got some folkks here who keep an eye out for these tidbits and they pass them along for the comedic value that they hold... but nothing else! :f_spider:
(How are you doing getting used to that "RED ROCKET"??:D

Red Rocket

You are correct, Bob. We all find the absurdly low priced items a joke, and therefore we all laugh. I read that little blurb early this AM and thought it was worth passing along.

I have not been on HRS (Hot RED Spyder) in over a week. The wind has been gusting to 50 mph and that is not what I want to experience again. Sabunim5 in Gulf Breeze, FL., a town about 20n miles from Navarre is coming over tomorrow and hopefully I'll get some good advise along with some instruction. I have had no one to ride with and so I've just been all alone to try to learn what I can. It is called "trial and error." I find myself slowing down after attaining a cruising speed, usually 45 which is the speed limit on the 4 lane I've ventured onto. ONe day something caused me to veer into the left lane. It might have been a gust of wind and it might have been something else.

I hope you are getting in lots of fun time on you BLUE BEAUTY.

ok, break time is over, so back to my yard work.

while common sense is a rapidly dying art form, it still remains the greatest protector against these ridiculous sales postings that we all see.. We know what Spyders are worth and we should have no trouble saying that what seems to good to be true, really is.. Certainly advance payments for anything in todays world should be limited to secure channels like paypal, ebay secured, etc..

It goes back to the old there is a sucker born every minute. If they can get anyone to fall for their scam it is an easy score for them. They run it through foreign channels so they cannot be prosecuted. That is why they post the ads all over the major cities, hoping to get lucky with that fishing hook.

There are a couple of threads on here where the people are playing along with the seller to see just how far it goes. That is a good way to learn how these scams work, and provide entertainment for the rest of us at the same time.
