• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A remarkable discovery ..... Front suspension upgrade

:chat:I went to the local hardware store with the RTL and bought a 16 lb sack of lawn seed; and put it in the Frunk for the 4 mile trip home.
HOLY MOLY!! what a huge difference in the front end response to bumps and small chuck holes in the road surfaces!! A HUGE improvement.:ohyea:
An equivalent amount of rocks, sand, or even (2) 1 gal water bottles could do the same thing. I love my Bajaron Sway Bar; but this even made the ride much more comfortable. What think you all???

theres a new one...sixteen # of weight in frunk = better ride.

Dare I say: "You load 16 pounds, what do you get, another day older..."

Tennessee Ernie Ford...Sorry

Has been done in Utes for decades!

redrazor do you have anything aftermarket other than Ron's bar up front?

OEM suspension or aftermarket? I had Elka's on my ST and it made for a very harsh ride. Put BajaRon shock adjusters on the RT. Nice and comfy but with just the support I like.

I would say you have to much preload on your shocks, turn them down some to soften up your ride!!

I ride 2 up all the time and have always felt that it was fairly smooth when loaded with luggage on my 17 rtl.My complaint is I feel it sways too much on turns and is easy to upset or lose its line if the road isnt perfectly smooth or if you have to make a correction in the middle of a turn.I have the BR sway bar but Ive been thinking maybe the Elka shocks might help but I hate to sacrifice the smooth ride and risk them leaking (if they still do that).PS I also have the spring adjusters which I have turned up slightly just bc Im always riding loaded.

Everything on front end is stock. Non adjustable OEM shocks etc. Just the BR sway bar and Kumho Solus tires at 18 psi. 175/55/15. I think there's not enough preload on the stock set up. Remember; this is a 2014 RTL, not a hot rod.:spyder2:

It's just the way of it. Heavy vehicles are generally more comfy, the extra load has inertia and it absorbs energy.

If you lay on the ground and someone hit you in the chest with a lump hammer it would do you serious damage but if you put an anvil on your chest first and they hit the anvil you'd be ok.

Your bike is similar but upside down; the road bumps hit your bike upwards but some of that energy is absorbed by the extra load.
