• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. A most entertaining Sunday drive to Waimea Canyon

Great weather yesterday so I took the F3 for a spin up to Waimea Canyon for a little wind therapy.

A most entertaining ride to say the least. Lots of smiles, people giving me the thumbs up, Shaka signs and one twisting throttle gesture for me to rev the engine. (sorry to disappoint, SE6) What really made me smile was a Japanese tourist who was taking a picture of her family, turned as she saw me and snapped a photo as I cruised by.

Kauaiians live a sheltered life, so most don't know what to think when they see the Spyder.

Now I know what it felt like to ride a Spyder when they were first introduced.

Would love to hear similar stories.

Aloha!

Bought my 2008 GS/SM5 sight unseen and untested as far as riding goes.

I got the first one sold in AK and my dealer got the other one for himself.

Dealer to home was a seven mile ride through town to my home. I took it low and slow just to get the feel of the new :ani29:. I really got the looks going through town. No one had seen such a thing here.

I lived on a nice twisty road with mountains on both sides. Spent the afternoon doing the twisties and gradually building my speed with each 20 mile round trip. I felt semi OK after the first day, but did not become one with the :spyder2: until about 1500 miles later. Old habits die hard.

I had my first :f_spider: at the end of 2007
I Redondo Beach Calif.
I did not see another :spyder2: on the road for at least 9 months
I was stopped 3 times the first day by police that just wanted to see it
A gas stop usually took 25 min.
If I wanted a quiet cup of coffee at Starbucks I had to park on the opposite side of the parking lot and walk over to Starbucks
I actually printed copies of the :spyder2: brochure and handed them out so I would not have to keep repeating everything over and over
Still get lots of questions and looks

I bought my yellow 08 in feb of 08.
I was in Daytona and a guy stopped me and wanted to know what it was.
I told him that I was testing it for nasa and they were going to use it on the moon.

he took the bait and swallowed the hook

Enjoy it....

It never goes away. Only owned mine for three years and still get the same looks and questions. Then roaming the backroads where they are hardly ever seen each town is the whole thing all over...we are still few in numbers...:yes: thats the rock star in it...:roflblack:
