There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. A Grand Day for a Ryde.

ARtraveler

Yesterday we had an interesting ryde. Snow came to the Anchorage Bowl in the early hours of Saturday. One higher elevation place received 5.0 inches and the other received 7.0 inches of snow. One about 10 miles away as the crow flies. This was the earliest snow since 1947.

The day became sunny and 51 degrees. We ended up doing a 164 mile ryde and had a mixed bag of conditions. We hit all our favorite close in rides one final time for the season. I am feeling we are on borrowed time now and snow could come anytime. Temperatures ranged from 51 degrees down to 34 degrees depending on where we went. Riding along the mountains in the shade, we experienced mid 40's. Took a drive up to Hatchers Pass and experienced 34 degrees at the summit. There was about 4 inches of snow there. It melted from the road, but the parking lot area had slushy snow in it. The gate allowing traffic over the summit and on to Willow (50 miles west) was closed to traffic. That will not be re-opened until June of 2013 when the snow melts again.

Akspyderlady completed 10,000 miles on Spyder since beginning as a passenger in May of 2011 and learning to drive late last season and all this season. She has 4904 driving miles on Spyder this year. We are going to go at least 100 miles this PM so she has 5000 driving miles and 5000 passenger miles on Spyders. Not bad for 10 months of driving seasons in two years.

Had some coverage of your snow here in NY on TV this morning. Glad to hear you had a good ryde in spite of it. 10,000 miles total - pretty good miles for 10 months. More than I do now. having to put the spYder up for the winter is a bummer!!

Left Fairbanks in 79, lots of great memories. I still have many pictures we look at and remember when we were less than mature. Seems you should be Moose hunting about now.:)

That's awesome:clap:have fun getting in those last miles and don't forget to take a photo and send it in to BRP for your pin!

I plan on taking a picture of the odometer and will send off for akspyderlady's pin. I just got her the 10,000 mile Cat Specialties patch for her vest.

Alaska is certainly beautiful and you are very lucky to experience it everyday but that being said I've been in enough snow for a lifetime and now I will enjoy the winter riding season here. Oh, I look forward to meeting you and AKSpyderlady in December here in Vegas.

We are so looking forward to our Vegas trip in December and to meeting up with you while we are there. We are definately going to Zion, Hoover Dam, and Red Rock Park while in the area.

YOU'VE GOT OUR WEATHER

You guys have been getting all our rain and storms this end of summer, beginning of fall. This has been the dryest August/September for western Washington ever!! We've had spectacular DRY riding weather past couple months. Have been able to ride to work every day and did over 200 miles this weekend around Mt Rainier. Every time we watch the local weather they show us the jet stream which has been taking all our wet and stormy weather up north to you guys.....:p So sorry for that, but, as they say :cus: happens:opps:.

Glad to hear you have received some benefits from us getting some of the nasty weather. I was feeling that we were kind of "due ours" since everyone else has been getting weird weather all summer long.

Once the snow comes to my road, it will be time to park the spyders for the big winter sleep. Hoping to get a couple more weekend rydes in, but we will see what happens.

Enjoy your rydes and weather. :2thumbs:
