• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. A good Spyder article

Makes me nervously anticipate my upcoming beginners 3-wheel course next month even more. Scared, psyched, worried, excited. All wrapped up in one neurotic bundle.

Dear Mr. Hawk1966

Makes me nervously anticipate my upcoming beginners 3-wheel course next month even more. Scared, psyched, worried, excited. All wrapped up in one neurotic bundle.

You got this. I went from VTX 1800 to Spyder RT and I was nervous too. Initially kept trying to put my foot down and grab for the front brake. Stay calm, take it easy, and that class will give you confidence. Once you ryde for a little, you will be very comfortable and glad you have three wheels! Enjoy!

Keep the faith. Always think positive. My Friend.
Thanks guys. :)

Hi ofdave,

Re: A good Spyder article

I thought it was a fairly good article until he wrote: 'It's not a motorcycle'

I wish I had a Spyder to learn on. Can't get any kind of learners permit here in FL. Have to take a course to get an endorsement before you can ride.

Great article, except I too didn't like that he kept saying it's not a motorcycle. It's not a BIKE, but it's certainly a motorized cycle. He clearly meant by his follow up statements that it simply doesn't handle like a bike.

It sounds nit-picky, but in a similar vein, here in MI the definition of motorcycle is important because now that we've succeeded in ameliorating our state's helmet law, state officials are fighting to go back to full helmet requirements (note too that the FEDS are considering making it a FEDERAL law that we must always wear helmets). They're doing so by outright lying about statistics, but also by including statistics on those vehicles which aren't motorcycles, such as the Sling Shot. Their numbers are tiny now, but Sling Shots and certain road-legal ATV type vehicles are on the roads here, and as their numbers grow, we don't need their accident statistics thrown in with ours when it's all being used against us.
