• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will I did it, came a little too close to a higher curb while parking and now I have a few scrapes!

I would guess the OEM rims are powder coated, question is can any one suggest a good touch up pain, whether the spray or brush is better, and does it even look good?

Or should I just keep a eye out for a rim to swap out when I have the tires done sometime in the long future? Bike only had 1500 miles on it.

Well, now you can relax and enjoy riding the bike. Nobody is going to notice it when you're flying by them!

Check with your local body shops. They should have someone that comes around that repair's rims with curb rash. Used car dealerships use them all the time.

Wheel Wizards come to mind but there are lots others. Just do a google search.

Thanks for the info!

Being in Chicago I think there are many of those shops around (tons of pot holes etc). I just priced a new OEM rim and it was DEEP BLACK, FRONT WHEEL - PN# 706204095 $179.00 plus shipping which came out to just about $200.

It may be a cheaper in the long run just to buy a new wheel down the line or keep an eye out for 1 or a pair of fresh take offs from a new bike.

Again, I could kick myself in the butt for rubbing up against a curb, I was making a slow U turn in a parking lot and I thought I had enough room. There was no rub mark on the tire or rim bead but the spokes stick out a bit further just enough a catch a few of them and put a couple dime size rub marks. I was going slow so hopefully it was not enough to throw off the alignment.

I do not know how sturdy these front ends are as keeping in alignment after something like this.

:2thumbs:

Paint Color Code

:coffee:...Did you check online for Color Paint Code?
I would think that someone in your region could find it locally. We have a Dealer in Indiana who has been somewhat helpful in finding Color Code Paint.

Good Luck on Your Mission. .....

Before you spend a lot of money on a new wheel, get whatever black you think is closst...perhaps semi-gloss, a small brush, and give it a try. Might find it works well enough. Or check with some car dealers to find a local touch up outfit. They use them all the time.
