2021 RT rear wheel removal.

Has anyone yet had to remove the rear wheel from a 2021 RT. It looks as if the extended rear mudguard/flap has to be removed. Is that correct and if so is it easy to remove and replace. I have removed the rear wheel from my last 2016 RT several times so I know the procedure re. belt alignment and tension. Not in need of removal yet, just getting the information for future use.

I pulled (literally pulled!) mine off when the rear tire was changed. There are just snap together fasteners holding it on. Take a quick picture, inside and out, so you know if you got it back in the right place.

I’ve done several. Jack up, tilt wheel, roll out. Easy!!

On my 2020 RT, it was easier to remove the fender extension to not only remove the wheel/tire but also to gain access and to see what you are doing.

I took mine off and I think it will likely stay off.

It is easier to swap the wheel with the extension removed BUT it's a real PITA to re-install it after the wheel is put back on. Reaching the fasteners up high is difficult unless you have needle-nose hands!
