• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Additional variables are 2.0 &3.0 as far as data , some Charging also vary in amperage 1.1~2.1A Believe all stay at 5VDC. Just something else to check for. Splitter may have different values per port

The USB port is a Type A - not type C.
Type C is for newer devices with a plug that is a small rectangle with rounded corners.
Type A is the large square plug with square corners - thay has a definite one way insertion (has an upside and downside).
The type C is universal and will insert either side up.

I would be using only 1 device at a time.

So for the 2 items I saw on Amazon which one should I go with?

:dontknow:Sorry conflicting information :banghead: if is USB A (looks like it in a Lamonster video https://youtu.be/MzkoENXRGqk)

Ok here we go,
I removed the cable and billett connector, it looks like it is a La Monster set up and I have been in contact since Monday and am waiting for a replym they had to send my question to the shop I guess.

This is the setup I believe:
https://www.lamonstergarage.com/lamonster-usb-cable-holder-can-am-spyder-motorcycle/

Since my bike has the HeliBars the cable was apparently too short and what it looks like it actually overheated at some time and the PO had glued the cable into the connector and its not coming out. So I would need a new billet connector and longer cable.

My thoughts since I have zero use for BRP gone and I can still use my cell for a backup music source I can just leave that in the trunk on charge cable.

I installed GO, made the BT connection then uninstalled GO but I still have use of that BT connection. So the cell can go in the trunk or even fits up front glove box as it fits NP.

Returned the OEM power /mp3 cables to the glove box. From there I have my MP3 connected through the 3.5mm Mp3 plug and can plug that in to charge or just leave the thing plugged in.

Now to use my Garmin Zumo I unplug the 3.5mm plug and power cable and plug that into my real bluetooth receiver (shame on GO)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TSN82BR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Pop the Garmin on the mount and Im ready to ride. Just a note the BT receiver can be left on the power cable or if you leave it off its go for up to 10 hours on a charge. I did a test yesterday and it was still going after 7 hours.

At some point I may replace the cable but again I never have use for the cell sitting there and it looks like that connection is not waterproof.

Last question is, is the La Monster setup waterproof? Perhaps the setup got wet and and caused a short which caused the overheated connection?

I still may opt for a extra power cable in the glove box but its pretty simple just to disconnect and reconnected the devices I want to use.

Thanks all for the suggestions, I was not aware of the new USB connector sizes and you saved my a few dollars from buying the wrong cable.

My brain hurts after all this

My apologies, It is indeed USB A on the bike.

The one you ordered will plug into the bike. I'm not sure about your other devices though.

My devices are all A usb with mini usb on the other end. This stuff all of sudden got so confusing! I made sure that the splitter did have the female ends so i could plug any A usb cable in with different ends, mini , micro , standard blah blah blah

I blame it all on the discontinuation of Windows 7 ( joke)

Thanks again all!

If you looked at my post, it's for my Garmin Zumo XT that is only BT, and as we know, BRP's NO GO is very very very BT impaired!

I still can't believe in this day and age they put stuff like that on the market.

I did remove that cable for charging my cell on the bars as well as the cell mount.

As mentioned I installed GO on my cell, made the BT pairing, then uninstalled GO but kept the BT connection.

So I can use the cell as a backup music source from my trunk.

Had the GO been a functional BT setup, a lot of this mess would not even be necessary.
