• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2020 RTL Demo Ride

Stonecold

Took my Ryker Rally for its first service this week and arranged for a test ride on a RTL while there, I had a 2015 RSS SM5 prior to the Ryker so have never ridden a SE6 model before.

Thoughts in no particular order :-

Its massive but does not feel like that once moving.

Both seats very comfy and myself and the wife loved the fact they are heated, I liked the heated grips.

Power steering was very nice at slow speed - miles better than I remember on the RSS

Suprised how sluggish it felt accelerating considering its a 1330, I assume its detuned as stock and a ECU map would waken it up somewhat. Roll on get up and go was great.

Really smooth in a straight line despite the quality of the roads on the test route, amazed at how well to cornered, still cant understand how something so big can be thrown around like it allowed.

Braking was very good and predictable.

Stereo sounded good at all speeds.

Adjustable shield works very well, I think it would offer a lot of protection in the rain.

Storage capacity more than I imagined.

Large floorboards are a genius idea

Things I was dissapointed with :-

For the price of the vehicle the clear coat is not great, demo bike had few marks (some were shipping damage) in the clear coat, I feel paint protection film would be a must in potential contact / stonechip prone areas.

Some of the panel gaps / plastic fitting and alignment was very poor.

I'm just working out which organs I can sell to buy on ASAP :-)

Sounds like it might have been in ECO mode. Turn that off and go for another ride. Keep both eyes. You only need one kidney!!

Hello, I purchased a 2020 RTL in Petrol Blue, I traded my 2013 RTL, and have NO regrets! The new RTL is vastly improved, this is my first 1330, I had the 998 twin in my 2013. The new Spyder is so much smoother, I say go for it!

That's a known problem but since it didn't affect the drivability or safety BRP decided to ship them anyway then issue a TSB for owners to come in for replacement once they have the correct parts.

Eco was turned off before I left the forecourt, it was not slow but was expecting it to accelerate a bit harder being a 1330 - I'm sure a bit of ECU tuning would wake it up.

Power dies off dramatically just over 3000rpms and doesn't really come back until 4200-4500rpms. Wind it out and see what it does. :)
