• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2016 RT First oil change

The manual on my new 2016 RT Spyder said to change oil at 3000 miles. This seems like a lot of miles for first oil change. Any thoughts on this length of miles on first oil change?

It is not a problem. Had mine done at 3200 and the oil was clear as brand new. Had it done at the dealer so they could replace the drain plugs with Gold Plugs and check everything out. Will do the rest myself from now on.

I bought the first iteration of this engine (2014 RT-S). I actually welcomed the 3000 miles as opposed to the 600 miles on the 998 Twins. Even better, the 9,500 mile interval (or one year), whichever comes first. That means, that after your 3,000 mile (break-in) service, you wont need similar until 12,500 miles and/or a year later if you drive less miles.

At ballpark $350 for an oil change, the new 1330's save a lot on maintenance expenses. There are those that change their oil more frequently, and that is their choice. If BRP says the above is all right--its not going to mess up any warranty. I have 22,000 trouble free miles on mine.

And, :welcome::yes::yes:

The oil in mine also looked good at the 3,000 mile mark. :thumbup:
Let's face it: they wouldn't suggest this interval, if it was going to cost them extra warranty work. nojoke
