• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To those with sticking throttles
my rtl has been in the shop
a little over 3 weeks. Recieved a call
from my dealer today said its fixed.
Was told problem was the throttle tube
they put 3 different ones on before finding
one that worked, was told canam knows
they got a bad batch of them. So if your
throttle is hanging up I would suggest a
trip to your dealer. Suppose to get my
bike back tomorrow :yes::yes:

I'm curious as to what part that is ...................because your Spyder THROTTLE works via electricity ( known as Fly by Wire )........Mike

Sounded odd to me too since i got it
new now has 1300 miles on it. But last
time I was there they had 3 more
new ones on the floor doing the same
thing. So maybe there's something to it
:dontknow:

:dontknow:.......and this issue seems to be happening at ONE dealership.....Could the Spyders have been assembled in-correctly ??????..... just a thought :gaah:.......Mike

Me too on 2015 base RT with 1000 miles

I'm assuming it's the section with the grip

It happens when I twist it open a little farther/harder, and then release the grip---it holds open until I manually back the throttle down past the sticking point. A little disconcerting when you think that that the bike should be throttling down and still accelerating.

What was the fix? Parts in stock?

That's what I'm thinking also.
If the twist throttle doesn't return to it's closed position upon release; the T.P.S. will simply continue to read it as open, and act accordingly...
Make sure that nothing is binding the throttle up. Try loosening the end caps first!

Called the two closest dealers..

since its a 2015 take it back to the dealer and have them warranty the throttle issue..

to see if either had any experience with sticking throttles. Neither said they did, and suggested the VIN recall lookup on BRP.com. Checked it and no recall listed. I removed the right end cap and sprayed some silicone lube spray around the inside and replaced the cap. Seems to rotate easier and springs back well. If the sticking reappears before the 3,000 mi initial service then I will see about them diagnosing and ordering parts for a fix. Don't want to give up riding days now while waiting on parts.
