If I use a 30-pin to Lightning adapter to connect my iPhone 5S to the audio input jack in the trunk using the 8-pin to 30-pin cable that came with the roadster, will there be any power coming from the audio input jack to charge the phone? It doesn't seem to me there would be any charging power but the Operator's Guide does not address this situation.
I have test fired the Aux function by playing music on the phone through the speakers using the 8-pin to 3.5mm plug that came with the Spyder in the audio input jack (two cables OTD). As the Operator's Guide states, using the Aux function I can adjust only the volume and the system works fine. With this set up, if I need to charge the phone while riding I would use the 12 volt trunk socket and a Lightning car charger or USB to Lightning 12 volt charger cable – that's two cables plugged into the phone simultaneously. If instead I were to purchase a 30-pin to Lightning plug adapter and connect the phone to the audio input jack using the 8-pin to 30-pin cable, the Aux screen should read "iPod Device" vice "Aux" and I should have some play list selection capability in addition to volume control but to the best of my limited knowledge there would be no way to charge the phone because the 3.5mm audio out socket on the phone is not for charging. I'd appreciate any possible assistance/information. Thanks.
