• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Hubby (Tobor 9) has been getting seat time when I sleep during the day. He did the loop (West Ashley to Isle of Palms via I-526 then back home on the Ravenel Bridge). While on I-526 yesterday the Gas symbol (Feed me!!!:bbq:) came up at 178 miles. When he filled up it showed 203 miles and he put in 6.6 gals of gas. Not too shabby!!!

That extra gallon of usable tank could come in real handy sometimes.

Good news..!!

it's good to see some better number on the mpg's. This was a big selling point but most reports are far below the estimated range.. But even better is your getting ryding time..enjoy.!!:ohyea::ohyea:

While the total miles per tank have risen dramatically due to tank size, so far I have not seen any spectacular mpg. I got 30 mpg when I first bought mine as was the result in this case. I am sure it will improve but it will be interesting to see how the numbers improve over time. My best tank was 32.2 and that was about a year after owning it.

I have had the low fuel light consistently come on at 170 miles I have not pushed as far as 203 miles though to fill but don't see why I couldn't.

On my test Spyder I have been getting 32.5 mpg but the machine is still in the break in stage and I have am a fairly aggressive rider.

Improved Fuel Range & MPG

This is still better than some of the bad gas mileage with the v-twins (25-26-27 mpg) that was often reported. I can imagine normal not-too-agressive riding on a well broken-in 1330 triple will be in the 35-36-37 mpg range. Time will tell if that holds true or not. The improved travelling range is nice regardless.

The current mpg reports on the 2014 RT's are probably going to be in the lower than normal range due to the fact that most of the machines are brand new and don't have that magic 6000 mile (broke in) range on them yet.

Another factor is that I don't think the test drivers are going to be babying the rides. I have seen the "drive it like a demo or rental" suggestions a couple times so far.

My guess is maybe 2 or 3 mpg better for the 1330's, but that is just an uneducated guess at this time. I don't beat my :spyder2:'s, but I don't baby them either. My record over four different 998 's has been 30-31 on average per tank. My lowest mpg was 28 and my highest was 35.

Disclaimer Statement: your mileage may differ due to many conditions. Rider, temperature, road conditions, altitude, etc. etc. etc. :roflblack:

Forgot to mention that this is not a new bike. It had over 5200 miles when we got it. I don't know if someone had a problem with it or if it had been on other demos. :dontknow:

All of the demos that I have heard about have had miles on them. Mine had 1330 and was picked up in AZ which happens to be where BRP has a test facility.

I did my first tank riding it like my 2012, the next three tanks with the eco mode on babying it, and will do the next three riding it like a demo. All I will say is the bike will spin the rear tire, and go over 101 (but not by me ;))

Mine had 4775 when I picked it up.
