• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bob D suggested my post might get a better response to my questions in the ST forum vs. the general forum.

So here it is, thanks:

Wondering if any Spyderlovers out there have a 2014 ST/ST-S/ST-LTD and can report on heat (or lack of heat) issues yet?

Has anyone with a 2013 ST/ST-S/ST-LTD who has had the factory BRP updates performed able to report on heat issue resolution?

Finally, has anyone changed out the 13 side panels for the new 14 panels that have the large air vents in them? If so, has there been any noticeable improvement.

Thank you in advance for your replies,

have not been on a 2014ST

Had the service bulletin completed in February....
.................before gas cap almost too hot to touch...now OK...almost cool to touch
.................before boiling gas...hard to put gas in tank......now no boiling gas and gas right up
.................before panels extremely hot.....now panels are warm to warmer
.................before fluctuating MPG.....now consistent MPG

Finally, has anyone changed out the 13 side panels for the new 14 panels that have the large air vents in them? If so, has there been any noticeable improvement.

Thank you in advance for your replies,

i have ST limited, 2014 . Did ride it for 2 days, total of 170 miles, with no heat issue.

Glad to hear of the positive results so far so good. I look forward to your report on the new side panels. After looking at a 2014 on the showroom floor, I think that the side panel change will be the icing on the cake, and your heat problems will be over. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Questions...

Wondering if any Spyderlovers out there have a 2014 ST/ST-S/ST-LTD and can report on heat (or lack of heat) issues yet?

Ours is a 2013 and I have not tried a 2014 model yet.

Had the dealer perform Service Bulletin (BRP updates) and definitely noticed an improvement. Engine runs cooler (seldom over 5 bars) and smoother. Engine response also better. Never had problems with boiling gas.

Yes, we changed out the OEM side panels for the new 2014 ones. Seems the service bulletin + 2014 panels do make
a noticeable improvement in cooling down the engine. As previously mentioned, temperature readings normally stays
no more than 5 bars. Will need to wait till summer to give you a final verdict. Side panels no longer feel "too hot". ;)

Well..!!

Progress has been made. Time will tell as the temps go up for the summer. Some customers have install their own solutions for heat issues ( not limited to any one model ). Keep an eye on us you will get the low down here first...

2013 STS

Have had no heat issues at all. Updates will be done shortly. Have had no desire or reason to consider the new panels.

Have 2013 ST-L and just over 5000 mils with no heat issues. Got stuck in traffic a few times back in August-October and it got warm but nothing to bother me. No boiling gas, no hot gas cap, can't wait for summer.

In SF Bay Area, California.

No heat issues on my 2013 ST-SM5 yet other than a pretty warm left leg. Not severely uncomfortable but noticable. However I have only 605 miles on mine and the hottest temperature I've ridden in so far was about 70F. I have not had the updates done yet. Which is why its sitting grounded in the garage until I can get it into the shop.
