• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2013 RTL - Non Starting Spyder - any ideas?

I have a 2013 RTL. I started the bike and about 30 seconds went by and it died. I got back on the bike to restart it and when I pushed the start switch there was nothing. Earlier in the week I had smelled what seemed to be like an electrical smell or burning smell when I was sitting at idle. I have turned the bike off and let it fully reset and still have no starting abilities. When I hit the start switch - nothing! I do have power, lights etc. Does anyone have any idea as to what has happened? Thanks in advance.

I'd be looking for blown fuses &/or burnt out/non-functioning Relay's?! :dontknow:

Do you have a Glovebox or Workshop Manual for your Spyder?? The various fuse & relay types & uses are explained in there, so you could get a good idea of which will need checking from the manual... My guess, one of the main relays has died (that electrical smell  ) & you'll need a new one, you should be able to match it from any auto elec outlet, BRP doesn't have a monopoly on anything about them, except maybe for the cost of those they sell!!
