• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone adjusted the fans temp setting and or can you. Have the fan turn on at a lower temp, run longer for in town driving.

Or installed another fan that runs all the time or has its own switch.

Thanks
Chris

Don't know..!!

if you can control the temp on the fan. They work well and if you had the recall done you should be fine. I have seen fans added and some talking about reversing the fan like the 14 RT's when stopped. They might tell you how it worked out.

Back in 2008 I installed a fan controller on my Spyder GS
I got it at Auto Zone
it had a probe that went between the radiator fins and you could adjust when the fan came on
It made the bike run one bar cooler since I had it turn on at 3 bars
I picked up the power for it from before the OEM fan relay

 Tell us more about this... :D

It was a few years ago so I do not remember the brand name of the one I used but here is one that will work

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hayden-Economy-Adjustable-Thermostatic-Fan-Control-3653-/151467103044

I set the temp to come on at 3 bars
I put all the unit under the Tupperware out of site since once set you do not have to adjust it anymore
Even in Arizona heat it never went above 4 bars and once in stop and go traffic it showed 5 bars for a very short time
I took the 12v power from the OEM line before the fan relay so the fan was running on the same factory fuse
I left the OEM circuit intact so if something went wrong with the new controller the OEM circuit would run the fan

 VERY interesting; Thanks! :2thumbs:
So this functions only to turn the fan on or off, and is completely independent of the thermostat...

Yes the fan will come on at a lower temp. so it does not have to try to lower the temp
It will just keep it lower especially in stop and go traffic where the air is not moving threw the radiator without the fan running
