There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 Recall Instructions Vent Kit

Cheers, new to the forum, finally registered been using for months for tech help, I work on Spyders here and there in my shop (mostly Tires and Oil Changes) and own a 2013 RTL,
I am looking for instructions for the recall repairs on my RTL heat issue, I bought the vent kit and of course no instructions. Was going to take it to the dealer but I don't want it sitting there six weeks before they work on it.
We don't have a great dealer here and I have little faith in them doing it correctly.
Thank you for the help and good to be here!

Use the advance search in the upper right corner of this page, there some good video's and instruction on this item!

Welcome to the club Steve. The thing is, if you have a 2013 RTL without the vents installed, that’s possibly an indication that the entire recall was not performed on that machine. The recall encompassed more than just vents on the 2013 machines. Here’s a link to the entire recall document. It was dealer installed at no charge. Check it out and you can see where your machine stands on it.

Yes sir I spent a lot of time searching and found a lot of people exchanging instructions by PM. Was kind of hoping for the same.
Thanks

Thank you sir, I know the recall wasn't done but I'm looking at 2 months without the bike if I take it to the local dealer for the recall. I get a lot of their customers for oil changes and minor things because of the wait. Their main priority is UTVs and ATVs, they even said they have trouble finding spyder techs. I'm just wanting to get rid of the hot air at the seat and glovebox for now. If it burns up I'm insured and have an excuse to get a 1330! :) Just Kidding!

Understand. Don't get your marshmallows toasted. Here's links to the other documents that have been shared around.

You really need to get the rest of the recall parts. The vents are only one part of the fix. The other parts have to do with better control of fuel vapors.

Send an email to [email protected] and talk to them about getting the recall fix done by the dealer. Since the recall was NHTSA mandated they just may be willing to put the screws on the dealer to fix it now! Safety recalls are not to be taken lightly by the manufacturer or the dealer. I say you are entitled to have it fixed ASAP, even this late in the game. Be prepared to explain why it hasn't been done, if you know.

You risk having the bike catch on fire. Not very likely, true, but it is possible.
