• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 Spyder RT with Code P1614 - any insights?

I've been reading about these things and know that the plague was P1614. Well, I decided to buy one and it ran great for the 70-mile trip home and the rest of the day. I parked it and later that night went to go for a ride..... and it wouldn't move nor rev and showed the P1614 code. It looks like the seller will not help with it in any way. What am I looking at? It has 23k miles on it; I'm sure it has had the updated tb and software. Is it going to be crazy expensive? I'm just learning about these machines, and I get bit with the bug just to get bit back. Thanks for any insight.

The very first thing you should do is to type 'P1614' into the Search field up toward the Top Right of the page; tick the 'Search Titles Only' box in the drop-down list that will appear below the box; submit your search; and then spend some time reading - the thread titles will help you pick the most applicable threads to read. Just about everything you might want to know about that code s covered in the results.

If it does get to the 'buying a new throttle body' stage, you probably won't easily find any new parts, so you might need to look for used throttle bodies taken of wrecked V-Twin engined Spyders. Most dealers aren't touching Spyders over 10 years old now. :banghead:

Good Luck!
