• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 / 2013???

I am about to jump in...

Looking at an RT SE5 with the AC package from 2012 for a good price. I would want to add the speakers to the back I think and add some aftermarket foot plates.
For a significant amount more I am trying to determine if its worth the upgrade to the RT-S model or dare I say a 2012 limited.

I prefer to have the floor boards, but other than that, I am not sure the 8k is worth it for the limited. or the 5k to go the RT-s...

I could also go for the 2013 RTS as it has everything, but for some reason they went with the uninspiring black wheels...

Is the upgrade to the 2013 worth the price difference? Chrome does not really matter to me.

I am thinking that the Automatic rear suspension would be good, as well as the fog lights. But to get the floor boards, I have to get the black wheels which I dont like too much.
So is it work that much more for the rear suspension and the fog lights?

I know.....a question answered with a question. Forgive me.

How do you intend to use your RT? Local mostly or touring too?

I have two RT's. A 2010 RT-S (which came with everything) and a 2011 RT- A & C (purchased new in 2012). We are happy with the A & C and I have only added a comfort seat, a trunk light panel, and some aftermarket floorboards. You will save a little money by buying a year older if you are not into the chrome etc.

Let us know what you decide. :welcome:

:welcome: I added the ACS setup to my 2010 A&C model; it was about four hours labor for the dealer... and WAY above anything that I'd attempt!
I bought the foglights with the bike, and the dealer charged for an hour's labor on that one...
My suggestion is to get the RTS model if you even think that you might want to be adding any significant amount of those parts on to your A&C...

I've actually brought my A&C up to full RTS specs after three years of work... I don't suggest this course of action unless "Patience and Perserverence" is your middle name!

You can get some pretty good deals on leftover 2012s I saw a RT Ltd at my dealer yesterday that was at a great price. To me though paying a bunch extra for luggage and chrome (of which I am not a big fan) and a garmin gps just isn't worth the price.

Personally I really like the black wheels. What color is brake dust anyway? Chrome colored or black?

We have a 2012 RT with A&C with a few miles on hold.
I see they may in fact have an RTS for about 4k more.
I would like the fog lights, and the choice of color, as well as the 4 speakers.
My main wonder is the suspension. Is the adjustable on the fly worth while or not?

thanks

I have the 2013 basic RT, it has the same radio setup as the Limited, the basic lacks luggage, chrome, fog lights, GPS System, heated passenger grips, driver floorboards, new type fenders, dash operated air ride (air ride is still adjustable but not from the dash), analog fuel and temp gauges. I am happy with the basic RT

Doing my own mods.

my primary ryde is 2012 RT LTD but I have had an opportunity to ryde a 2013 RTS for 1000 miles.. my 12 holds the rode much better and the steering in not nearly as "flighty" and no folks I don't over steer.. I have nearly 75000 Spyder miles now... If I was buying a bike right now I would get another 12 rather than a 13
