• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2011 RSS Parking Brake Adjustment

Just bought my bike, so learning from this forum and experimenting. I noticed that my bike would roll even with the parking brake on. Found out how to adjust it, and did. I notice that I am at the end of the treads. Is there a way to do anything with the "rotating cam" that the cable fits on?

Here's what you do..!!

loosen the center nut on the hub and reposition the hub on the spline. Reset the nuts on the cable adjuster and readjust the brake. You should have the brake tight at 4/5 clicks...should be in the manual or get a CD shop manual (green manual) online ebay which will help with doing work yourself...
Welcome to the roadster world and this site hope this helps..:2thumbs:

I have to do this about every 1500 miles.

The parking brake does not have to be adjusted until the pedal hits bottom. But it is a good idea to adjust it once a year before that happens so you don't have to deal with it on the road somewhere.

If the pedal will not or slow to latch, difficult to unlatch or will not travel to the full up position. This is not an adjustment problem. The pedal mechanism is dirty, needs lubrication or both. So clean and lube the ratchet cam and you won't believe how much better it will work. On my 09 I used brake clean to clean it and white lithium grease for lube. Someone I advised used compressed air to clean and lost the spring. So don't do that.

I put 19,000 miles on my 09 GS before trading it off and only adjust the parking brake once. It actually was not needed but part of getting it ready for the riding season.
