Back in the early days of the Forum, this code popped up a lot, often just cos the brake fluid level was a tiny touch low, even tho the reservoirs
looked full, or the raised bit of the cap wasn't aimed towards the rear of the Spyder so it wasn't venting properly!!
So as a '
try this first' thing, I'd suggest that you try adding maybe a teaspoon full of brake fluid to each part of the reservoir,
even if they look full already - if they don't look like they'll instantly overflow, then add some brake fluid, and maybe tap each of the floats to make sure they're not jammed. And then when you put the caps back on, make sure the little rubber diaphragm bit is pushed
up into the cap, not hanging down; and that the tallest of the raised spines in the top of the caps are pointing basically towards the back of the Spyder once they're closed. Then carefully test ride, for at least a few hundred metres, with some random braking and a bit of gentle turning back & forth thrown in for luck, just to see if you can get that light to go out. If it does go out, then low fluid was your problem and now that you've fixed that, you're good to go!
However, if the warning light
DOESN'T go out after doing that ^^, then maybe you can try entering your code '
C1282' into the
Search field up toward the top right of the page, just outboard of your username/profile; tick the box alongside '
Search titles only'; then
submit the search; and
spend some time reading - there's a fair bit here already on this particular code, altho you might need to dig a little further if you can't find answers in those search results, cos they'll only go back a few years due to platform upgrades & changes etc, so you might need to get creative to find the earlier threads/posts.
Good Luck!
