There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 12v power outlet on dash

Hey guys, my google fu must be weak today. I'm looking for a 12v accessory outlet that I can install in place of one of the unused gauges, but cant find a single one anywhere. Little help please?

There are cigarette outlets available with caps, but I prefer the Powerlet (BMW-type) outlets. They hold better and don't lose contact on the bumps. I don't know of anything that will fit the hole directly. You'll have to put in a plug, such as that made to cover the gauge hole on the standard RT, then drill a hole in the plug for your outlet. Don't forget that if you use the gauge lighting wires for your power that they are very limited. I would fuse the outlet separately, and not above 3 amps. If you run a wire from an auxiliary fuse block, you can get more amperage.

:agree: however, I do have the regular cigar outlets. I haven't had any connection issues in 30k miles. I got mine from a marine supply co. and they have the waterproof caps. They are wired to a 3 amp slot in a fuse box just like the Godfather:bowdown: recommends.

You may want to consider putting a BMW Socket in the Bank of switches located under the handlebars

On my Spyder RT-S SE5 2010 Model there was a blank space in the middle of the Switches covered over by a blanking plate
I just prised the cover off using a small screwdriver and noticed a Hole – I used this hole to mount the BMW Socket

I wired up the socket via a fusebox (FZ1) threading the wires up though the hole attaching the
BMW Power socket Putting the socket back into the hole and securing it

The BMW Socket has a cover on it so its protected when its not in use

The position means items can be powered up if secured to the Handlebars or its easier to
use for power for Intercoms etc as the wire is in the middle and away from the Handlebars

Note you can get an adapter that will allow a normal Cigarette to plug into the BMW Socket if you need to

I also use via a BMW Plug my Optimate 6 Charger to keep my battery topped up into this socket

Hope this helps
