12,000 mile service

Took my 2013 RT LTD to the dealer today to have the 12,000 mile service done. I actually have 13,000 miles on the spyder since I've purchased it. Has anyone ignored this service because of the cost? I wasn't going to do it at first, but I figured it is best to keep all the service up to date if I want to sell it some day or trade it in for a new purchase. I usually do my own oil changes. I also have done the belt alignment, added some farkles that I have, but some of the service Items in my opinion need a dealers attention. I don't have a BUDS system, and even if I did I wouldn't know how to use it. I hope the service goes well and it will give me peace of mind knowing that all the service on my spyder is up to date.

Well first under the new service plan BRP introduced a couple years ago. Service is every 4600 miles.
So the schedule is:
600 mile check + 4600 = 5200 mile service.
5200 + 4600 = 9800 mile service.
9800 + 4600 = 14,000 mile service.

Now the 14K mile service expense is due to the valve check. What I have been reading here for a few years now, is MOST (but not all) Spyders the valves are OK and did not need adjusting. A few do.

My take on this as I will be doing my 14K myself (my warranty runs out Jan 2016), is if your extended warranty is almost over, skip it but have it done for sure at 28K. If your warranty is good for more than a year, then I would do it.
